With the development of urbanization in China,a large number of expropriated peasants have been transferred to resettlement communities, and environmental changes have had an impact on the original single and stable peasant life, causing changes in life, culture, politics, and other levels. In this context, expropriated farmers often have difficulty in making a smooth transition from rural life to urban communities, showing inadaptability in many ways.Based on the survey data of three demolition and resettlement communities,G,X,and Y,this paper constructs a social adaptation evaluation index system for expropriated farmers from the two dimensions of "material-psychological".Through social adaptability evaluation and spatial analysis,it is found that the social adaptability of expropriated farmers in Y,X,and G3 communities gradually decreased. This finding shows that with the changes of the times, the social adaptability of the expropriated farmers has not improved due to the development of surrounding supporting facilities. In order to explain the phenomenon of "reverse development" of the social adaptability of expropriated farmers, this study innovatively introduces the expectation theory in behavioral economics and proposes that the change of psychological expectations causes the judgment bias of expropriated farmers, which in turn affects the change of their social adaptation. In order to solve the problem of adaptation, this paper turns its attention to social work, analyzes the material and psychological needs of expropriated peasants from the perspective of social work, and tries to solve the social adaptation problem of expropriated peasants through social work intervention. This paper uses community social work methods to carry out social work practice with the G community as a typical example. The service process was guided by the empowerment theory, guided by the "material-psychological" needs of the expropriated farmers, improved material adaptation by improving the community environment and carrying out vocational training, and improved psychological adaptation by promoting community activity participation and enhancing the sense of belonging to the community. The social work service in this study improved the social adaptation level of farmers whose land was expropriated in the G community and initially solved the outstanding problems in social adaptation.
