Media Domestication And Reverse Domestication: The Analysis On The Practice Of Mediatization Motherhood Of Post-90s First-time Mothers

In the context of media-oriented society,this paper focuses the theory of "media-oriented" on the field of "parenting",takes the post-90 s mothers of the "digital indigenous generation" as the case study object,and puts forward the core discussion question of this paper: what role does media play in parenting practice,and from the two dimensions of media-oriented: Starting from "domestication" and "reverse domestication",this paper explores how media infiltrates into the whole process of parenting life through the analysis of media contact and parenting practice of the research subjects.This paper mainly adopts in-depth interview method and virtual ethnography to conduct semi-structured interviews with 30 interviewees for a period of 9 months.On the one hand,it explores the feelings of media use and parenting practices of the research objects,and on the other hand,it observes the intervention of media in the parenting practices of post-90 s mothers.Firstly,this paper analyzes the realistic connection between mediation and parenting practice from a theoretical point of view.Secondly,the role of media in the process of "preparation,pregnancy and rearing" is discussed from the perspective that new mothers use media as a "tool" to assist parenting.Finally,the paper analyzes the shaping path of media logic on the parenting practice of new mothers born in the 1990 s,demonstrates the powerful shaping power of media reverse construction on the parenting community,analyzes the characteristics of media logic on the writing of social motherhood image,and extends to the social impact of capital logic on media-oriented parenting.This paper tries to explore the reality of media parenting by answering the core questions through comprehensive analysis.In the media-oriented era,everyone is establishing contact with the media and interacting with others and society in the media society.In the study of this paper,media-oriented parenting presents a unique state of development in the cases of new mothers born in the 1990 s.On the one hand,they assisted their parenting practice by domesticating the media;on the other hand,the powerful shaping power of media logic brought internalization and shaping of their parenting ideas and actions.
