Abstract/Summary:
In recent years,in the process of seeking standardization, specialization and high quality of voluntary service, the role of social work has become more and more critical, and the fields in which social work supports voluntary service have become more and more extensive. For college students’ volunteers,it is more from the aspects of volunteer service participation motivation, incentive measures, organization and management mode, etc. The research on the burnout of college students’ volunteers is relatively weak. How to use professional theories and methods to study and solve this problem requires the combination of theory and practice.Based on the above thinking, this study goes deep into the volunteer service world of college students’ volunteer service, and takes empowerment theory as the theoretical perspective of this paper.Firstly,it explores the phenomenon and causes of volunteer service burnout of college students’ volunteer service in D university of Dalian as the main research object.Specifically, through qualitative research methods, this paper sorts out and defines the core concepts of volunteer service burnout, and conducts in-depth interviews with volunteer teachers in western China in recent two years.Through the collection and analysis of questionnaires and interview data, combined with part of the exposition of job burnout,it concretely presents the problems of emotional exhaustion, interpersonal indifference and low sense of achievement of volunteer teachers in D universities in the current volunteer service, and analyzes the causes of burnout such as workload, role awareness and lack of support. In the case service research, through the pre-estimation and analysis of the case owner’s data, combined with the results of MBI-GS Job Burnout Scale, under the theoretical framework of empowerment, the case owner was involved in three aspects of case work practice: strengthening personal belief, strengthening interpersonal communication and improving environmental support, which helped the college student volunteer to improve the volunteer service burnout, and summarized the effective intervention ways and benign cooperation modes between social work and volunteers. It is found that applying empowerment theory to the practice of burnout can effectively improve the burnout of volunteer teachers, and improve their abilities in personal, interpersonal and environmental aspects. On the premise of guaranteeing the basic rights of college students’ volunteers, taking volunteers as social individuals or groups with development potential can improve the volunteer service status of college students, enable them to better participate in volunteer service activities and gain value realization and growth, and also enable volunteer service organizations to adjust their development direction and management mechanism,so that they have more development potential and improve the level of serving the society.
