Study On The Impact Of Population Aging On Service Industry Structure Upgrading

China’s economy has turned to the stage of high-quality development,which is inseparable from the optimization and upgrading of the industrial structure.In the process of China’s industrial development,the service industry is the most developed.Since China entered the aging society in 2000,population aging has become more and more serious.Based on the dual background of the service industry development and the increasingly serious aging population in the process of high-quality economic development,this paper uses the panel data of 31 provinces,municipalities and autonomous regions in China from 2005 to2019 to establish the mediation effect model,and studies the impact of population aging on the upgrading of service industry structure from multiple perspectives.First of all,the paper systematically summarizes the literature on the impact of population aging on the upgrading of industrial structure and the ways of impact on the upgrading of service structure,and systematically sorts out the concepts related to population aging and service industry.On this basis,it analyzes the impact of population aging on the upgrading of service industry structure,that is,population aging will affect the upgrading of service industry structure by affecting consumer demand,labor supply,labor productivity,human capital level and pension burden.Secondly,based on the theoretical analysis of population aging on the upgrading of service industry structure,an econometric model is established to study the impact of population aging on the upgrading of service industry structure by using the mediation effect.The results show that :(1)Aging population will hinder the upgrading of service industry structure;(2)Aging population in different regions has different impacts on the upgrading of service industry structure;(3)Aging population will promote the upgrading of service industry structure by affecting consumer demand;By affecting labor supply,labor productivity,human capital level,pension burden hinders the upgrading of service industry structure.Finally,based on the results of theoretical analysis and empirical analysis,from the trend of population change,vigorously develop the elderly industry,and through the perfect social security system,enhance the consumption power of the elderly,and promote the upgrading of service industry structure;To increase the accumulation of human capital to meet the needs of the upgrading of service industry structure;Promoting the upgrading of service industry structure in different regions according to the differences in population age structure among different regions;Policy suggestions are put forward from four aspects: optimizing birth policy and implementing various methods to encourage birth.
