Patriotism is a powerful spiritual force that inspires the people of all ethnic groups to struggle tenaciously,promote social development and safeguard national unity.The General Secretary Xi Jinping has also repeatedly stressed the need to take patriotism education as the eternal theme.Under the background of the new era,China’s economic,cultural and social development has reached a new level.At the same time,due to the impact of the global epidemic and the change of the international situation,the domestic and international environment is more complex,the challenges facing China are more severe,and the external temptations faced by college students in the new era are more intensive,resulting in the dilemma of patriotism education in the new era.The ideas of educators and educatees,the ways and methods of patriotism education and the effect of education are affected and restricted to varying degrees.Through investigation and research,this paper finds out the practical problems existing in patriotism education in the new era,so as to find targeted methods to solve the problems,which has important practical significance and time value for improving the effectiveness of patriotism education for college students in the new era.The guiding ideology of this thesis is "Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era ".This thesis makes a comprehensive and systematic study on the patriotism education of college students in the new era by comprehensively using the research methods of literature research,questionnaire survey and comparative analysis.Firstly,this thesis combs and defines the core concept connotation of college students’ patriotism education in the new era.Then it traces back the theoretical basis of the development of patriotism education.It expounds the value implication of strengthening patriotism education from the three dimensions of college students’ all-round development,national unity and national rejuvenation.Secondly,investigate and analyze the problems and causes of current patriotism education.According to the existing problems,the reasons that hinder the improvement of college students’ patriotism education in the new era are that college students’ self-education consciousness is not strong,teachers’ training is insufficient,the combination of teaching content and form is not close,and the educational environment is complex and changeable.Finally,facing the current problems and constraints,this thesis systematically puts forward that we should start from the four elements of ideological and political education.It is to think about the promotion path of patriotism education from the educational subject,object,medium and ring.First of all,we should make efforts from the main body of students and teachers to properly solve the endogenous driving force that restricts the effectiveness of patriotic education.Secondly,focus on the integrated development of education and technology to effectively solve the driving problem of promoting the development of patriotic education.Finally,efforts should be made to coordinate the educational environment and comprehensively solve the external incentives restricting the promotion of patriotism education.Only in this way can we promote the healthy and long-term development of college students’ patriotism education in the new era.
