The 21st century is the century of talent competition.The competition of comprehensive national strength revolves around the ability of independent innovation,and innovative talents are particularly important.Creative talents need to have creative thinking,divergent thinking is the core of creative thinking.Mind map is a visualized thinking tool,and the process of chart construction is conducive to the formation of divergent thinking.This study attempts to apply mind mapping in high school biology teaching to explore its value and effect on cultivating divergent thinking in high school students.This study adopts the methods of questionnaire survey,interview,text analysis and experiment to carry out practical research in high school biology class.The demand for innovative talents in social development and the breakthrough in traditional teaching are analyzed,and the characteristics and research status of divergent thinking and mind map are sorted out in combination with literature research,and the measurement with fluency,flexibility and uniqueness as the detection index is formed.Then,with the help of questionnaire,we can understand students’ learning habits and understanding of mind mapping,as well as the current situation of front-line teachers’ training of students’ divergent thinking in the current biology class of high school.Finally,based on the results of literature research and investigation,this paper carries out 8 periods of mind mapping teaching strategy practice in two parallel classes of L high school in Anhui province with the experimental content of high school Biology Optional 1 Steady-State and Regulation.By means of the scale,the students’ divergent thinking was measured.The results showed that the students in the experimental class scored higher in divergent thinking than the students in the control class,and there were significant differences in the fluency and flexibility of divergent thinking.The practice results show that in the teaching process of "Steady State and Regulation",the application of mind mapping can significantly improve the level of divergent thinking of high school students.It is suggested that front-line teachers give full play to students’ dominant position,attach importance to students’ ideas,and use this strategy flexibly to cultivate divergent thinking.
