With the continuous progress of the times, educational undertakings are constantly reformed and developed. As a critical part of the compulsory education teachers’ team, primary school teachers have an important professional status.Compared with teachers in other grades, primary school teachers induce occupational stress during the adjustment period of the first-graders,home,and school communication, and workload.Although the ministry of education has issued relevant policies and regulations in recent years, the pressure on teachers has only increased. For new teachers, the lack of education and teaching experience is one of the difficulties they face.In addition, various assessment tasks emerge one after another, which leads to excessive occupational pressure, which greatly increases the possibility of occupational diseases, anxiety, and occupational burnout, thus limiting the healthy development of the teaching staff. Therefore, there is a strong practical significance to studying the pressure on new teachers in primary schools. How does the new teacher feel under pressure? What are the specific sources of pressure? How to deal with it?These questions are all worth further study.Through the method of literature research, questionnaire survey, and interview research, combined with domestic and foreign research, taking a primary school A as a case, the paper analyzes the current situation and existing problems of new teachers’ stress management in a primary school and explores new teachers’ occupational stressors, stress management conditions and the need for it.The paper adopts a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods to collect data through questionnaires and objectively analyze the content of the interviews. The study found that the new teachers in primary schools experienced distinct stress, which comes in descending order: workload, school management, parental factors, educational reform,self-needs,welfare status, and student factors. The school and the society have consciously carried out a series of activities for new teachers, intending to relieve the professional pressure of new teachers, but failed to achieve the expected results. Some problems are remained, like organizational structure to be optimized, unideal working environment, less effective incentives, inadequate communication skills, and personal coping disorders. The root cause is mainly due to the failure of various levels to play their roles and the imperfect management system.Based on the above investigation and guided by Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs Theory, targeted countermeasures and suggestions are put forward from three aspects: organizational structure, management process, and guarantee mechanism,to alleviate the occupational pressure of new teachers and create a better educational and ecological environment for similar schools’ reference.
