There is a gender wage gap between the sexes in all countries in the world, and it is also true in China.Especially after the reform and opening up,the rights and status of different classes in China have changed. The income inequality between men and women is also increasing, which has caused scholars to explore successively. With the expansion of educational opportunities, educational equality and social fairness and other concepts deeply rooted in the hearts of the people, the investment in human capital represented by the educational level of men and women is becoming more and more similar.challenges to a certain extent.Based on the theoretical perspective of social capital, this paper uses the 2017 CGSS data to re-examine the issue of gender wage gaps. This paper divides social capital into two types:structural and cognitive, and explains the impact of two types of heterogeneous social capital on gender wages. After analyzing the mechanism of the difference, the article further decomposes the contribution of the difference in the characteristics of social capital and the difference in the rate of return to the gender wage difference. The study draws the following conclusions:First, there is a significant difference between the social capital stock of men and women and the wage return of social capital, and some dimensions of social capital can bring about a significant wage premium, and the increase in marginal wages brought about by men’s social capital stock should be limited.greater than that of women, and there are significant differences in this effect for men and women at different income levels.Second, structural social capital has a stronger influence on individual wages than cognitive social capital, and some dimensions of cognitive social capital will hinder the rise of individual wages to a certain extent.Third, the gender wage gap between men and women will decrease as the quantile increases, and the "sticky floor effect" in the labor market is more significant than the "glass ceiling effect".Specifically, the explainable part of the gender wage gap mainly comes from the differences in individual characteristics such as human capital; It can effectively narrow the gender wage gap.
