With the rapid development of China’s economy and society,the major needs of the Chinese people and the composition of the economy and society have gradually changed.In order to meet the needs of the new society,we are actively building a harmonious socialist society,china has clearly put forward the overall goal of China’s innovative social management,and social workers have become an important part of China’s innovative economic and social management,its progress has been included in the China government work report in 2015,providing new opportunities for the professional development of social workers.Since the 1980s,China’s higher education in social work has been restarted.Starting in 2009,the Social Work Master’s program has been re-established.The field of social work education has been expanding continuously,it has provided the outstanding contribution for the Chinese social work industry talented person training.But at present,the employment rate of social work graduates is generally low,resulting in a large number of social work professionals drain,the development of China’s social work industry has been greatly restricted.This paper mainly analyzes the employment intention of master of social work graduates,aiming to explore the real employment intention and influencing factors of master of social work through qualitative research.Firstly,the literature method is used to sort out the relevant theories of the master of social work,the education of the master of social work,the employment of the master of social work,and the impact of professional identity on the employment of social work specialty,so as to find and refine the research views related to this paper;Secondly,this paper uses relevant theories to explain,such as Maslow’s demand hierarchy theory and rational choice theory;Thirdly,through the methods of questionnaire and in-depth interview,this paper investigates the 2022 master of Social Work Graduates of the University of B city,and first understands the investigation of the employment intention of the master of social work;Then it analyzes the influencing factors of master of social work’s employment intention,studies its employment intention,which is divided into individual level influencing factors,social work education influencing factors and external influencing factors,summarizes various influencing factors,and provides suggestions from individual,educational and macro levels.The study found that the number of social work graduates from the class of 2022 in City B who want to enter the social work industry after graduation is very small,and most of the graduates want to enter the government,career editing and state-owned enterprises,a small number of graduates choose to work in enterprises,personnel departments and logistics positions become the main choice.Master of social work graduates do not give priority to entering the social work sector when seeking employment.We can draw the following conclusions:The current employment environment is not optimistic,the wage level is difficult to meet the survival needs of social workers,and social work for social recognition and occupational reputation are low.The social work master student currently regarding this specialized employment intention is generally low.This research is helpful to understand the employment intention of social work graduate students and its influencing factors,and to improve their professional identity and employment status,promoting the long-term development of social work in China.
