| Since July 2021,the state issued the Opinions on Further Reducing the Burden of Homework and Off-Campus Training for Students in Compulsory Education, the community has become more and more concerned about the reduction of students’ burdens, and parents’ and students’ demands for examination results have increased due to the influence of exam-oriented education. The contradiction between "reducing the burden" and "further education" has become more and more prominent. All parties try to use "sea of questions" to improve performance, but ignore the "few but precise" post-lesson exercises in the unified language textbooks, which play an important role in teachers’ teaching and students’ mastery of textbook knowledge. Therefore,it is important to study the after-school exercises in language textbooks. This study adopts the research methods of literature research, data statistics, questionnaires, and interviews, and is based on the theory of cognitive development, the theory of classification of educational goals, and the laws of learning. On the basis of exploring the features and functions of the after-school exercises of language textbooks in the second grade of elementary school, questionnaires and interviews were conducted with students and language teachers in the second grade of elementary school in Nanning T.The problems and causes of the current use of after-school exercises of language textbooks in the second grade of elementary school were analyzed, and corresponding countermeasures for the use of after-school exercises were proposed in response to the problems. The study found that the following problems exist in the use of after-school exercises in elementary school textbooks: teachers’ lack of in-depth understanding of the exercises in textbooks;teachers’ low use of application-based exercises;teachers’ lack of overall construction of the use of exercises;students’ weak autonomy in completing the exercises;students’ lack of interest in the exercises;and students’ tendency to use the exercises for utilitarian purposes. The main reasons are as follows: teachers’ teaching outlook is not updated in time;teachers’ classroom teaching time is short;teachers do not view exercises with a connected view;students are psychologically dependent on teachers and the Internet;students do not find the novelty of exercises;students are deeply influenced by the idea of exam-oriented education. In response to the problems, the following countermeasures are proposed for the use of after-school exercises in elementary school second-grade language textbooks: teachers update their teaching outlook in time and pay attention to the changes of exercises;teachers extend the classroom afterwards and adapt the contents of exercises appropriately;teachers improve their professionalism and use optimal integration strategies;students attach great importance to exercises and are brave to think and explore independently;students are diligent in accumulating knowledge and good at discovering the features of exercises;students change their learning motivation and Students are willing to use the exercises actively. |
