The ’ Compulsory Education Curriculum Standards(2022 Edition)’ first proposed to pay attention to students ’ algebraic reasoning ability.Algebraic reasoning ability is an important part of forming students ’ core literacy and cultivating students ’ logical thinking ability.The purpose of this study is to investigate the current situation of algebraic reasoning ability of grade 9students,analyze the causes of the current situation of students ’ algebraic reasoning ability,and explore how to effectively cultivate and improve students ’ algebraic reasoning ability.Through the test of algebraic reasoning ability and related information collection of grade 9 students in Linyi H Middle School,we can understand the current situation of students ’ algebraic reasoning ability,and track and train six students at different levels in real time to explore the existing problems and guide the training.Firstly,on the basis of existing research,a set of tools for evaluating the algebraic reasoning ability of grade 9 is developed and used to evaluate.So as to establish the three main problems of this study :(1)to compile a reasonable and effective test paper for the algebraic reasoning ability of grade 9 students;(2)The characteristics of the development of algebraic reasoning ability of grade 9 students;(3)Teaching improvement strategies to promote the development of algebraic reasoning ability.Then a two-dimensional evaluation framework is established.The reasoning process dimension includes four aspects : generalization,representation,calculation and demonstration.The reasoning content dimension includes three parts : number and formula,equation and inequality,and function.Through evaluation and data analysis,the current situation of algebraic reasoning ability in grade 9 is obtained :(1)students are good at algebraic reasoning in their familiar fields;(2)In terms of generalization,students are good at discovering relationships and describing relationships in language is not smooth.(3)The function representation ability is poor,and the algebraic formula and equation representation ability are better.(4)High computing power,single demonstration method;(5)There is no significant difference in algebraic reasoning ability between male and female students;(6)There are significant differences in algebraic reasoning ability between different mathematical levels.Finally,in the stratified case training,it is found that :(1)Grade 9 students usually rely on the teacher ’s guidance and questions in the form of tips to solve algebraic reasoning problems;(2)Excellent students have strong algebraic reasoning ability,flexible use of various algebraic knowledge and skills;(3)There are significant differences in the middle-grade students,which should be treated accordingly.(4)The concept,theorem and formula of algebra of students with learning difficulties are not firmly grasped,which limits their ability development.Based on the above analysis,six training suggestions are put forward :(1)Language describes quantitative relations and deepens understanding of quantitative relations;(2)Multi-representation teaching content,guide students to actively explore;(3)Cultivate students ’symbol consciousness and improve their mathematical expression ability;(4)Based on the classroom research,mining theorem generation process;(5)Enrich the presentation of textbooks and actively create reasoning situations;(6)Improve the relevant evaluation mechanism to achieve explicit reasoning ability.This study hopes to provide some reference and reference for the improvement and improvement of algebra education in grade 9,so as to improve students ’ algebraic reasoning ability and application ability,and lay a solid foundation for future learning and work.
