| Continuous development of productive forces and people’s yearning for a better life,the global tourism industry shows a momentum of vigorous development,the number of entry-exit tourism in China is increasing,the demand for international tour guide talents is more urgent.As an important field of tourism personnel training,tourism major of secondary vocational schools undertakes the important task of training high-quality and skilled tourism service personnel.English for Tour Guides is a core course for tourism majors in secondary vocational colleges,aiming at improving students’ tourism reception ability,English communication ability and cultural communication ability,and laying a foundation for cultivating compound and international tourism talents.However,for a long time,due to the limitations of funds,manpower,equipment and other factors,English for Tour guides in secondary vocational colleges in China is still faced with problems such as unclear teaching objectives,lagging teaching content,and single teaching method.It is urgent to reform the traditional teaching mode.Blended teaching,as a teaching mode integrating traditional course teaching and network teaching,is of great significance to enrich teachers’ teaching resources,stimulate students’ interest in learning and improve teaching effects,and has been widely recognized and applied by the educational circle.Although some secondary vocational colleges have tried the mixed teaching of "English for Tour guides",there are still some disadvantages of "putting more emphasis on input than output,separating learning from application and low efficiency".In order to solve the above problems,the author tried to apply the production-oriente d Approach(POA)to the mixed teaching of Guide English in secondary vocational schools,and designed the teaching process according to the three links of "driving,facilitating and evaluating".Explore its feasibility and effectiveness in the mixed teaching of English for Tour guides in secondary vocational schools.First of all,literature analysis method is adopted to sort out relevant research results at home and abroad,master the research status of outputoriented method and blended teaching,and provide direction for the application of blended teaching of English for Tour guides in secondary vocational schools.Secondly,this paper selects teachers and students from some representative secondary vocational colleges in Jiaxing,Zhejiang province to investigate,analyze and summarize the current situation of the mixed teaching of English for Tour guides,discusses the necessity and feasibility of the implementation of output-oriented method,and proposes that the output-oriented method is suitable for the course of English for Tour Guides.Thirdly,according to the teaching design principles of systematicness,interactivity and practicability,and following the teaching concepts of learning center,integration of learning and application,and whole-person education,the teaching content design of English for Tour Guides is carried out in accordance with three links: input drive before class,input facilitate class,and evaluation during class and after class.Finally,64 students from two classes of grade three in Jiashan Information Engineering Technology Learning Tourism Service major were studied.Class 1was an experimental class.The mixed teaching mode based on output-oriented method was adopted.Class 2 was the control class,which followed the traditional teaching mode.After the 6-week experiment,the students of the two classes were tested and evaluated.The results show that the outputoriented hybrid teaching model can stimulate students’ interest in learning and improve their English ability.Improve teaching effect and promote curriculum reform. |
