Under the dual background of the expansion of higher education scale and the rapid development of intelligent technology,some obvious changes have taken place in the internal structure and external environment of master students.Weak self-control has become a common problem among master students,which will inevitably affect their learning results.Therefore,the status of self-control of master students and its influence on learning results are all issues worth discussing.This paper takes the graduate students as the research object,investigates the self-control level of this group,and explores the relationship between self-control and learning results in combination with the study situation during graduate school.Based on the theory of limited self-control resources,the dual-system theory of self-control,the "input-environment-output" model and the conceptual framework of academic success,this paper divides master students’ self-control into four dimensions:impulse control,resisting temptation,focusing on learning and healthy habits,and divides their learning results into three dimensions:academic knowledge and skills,scientific research ability and professional affection.By combining quantitative and qualitative methods,this paper analyzes the current situation of master students’ selfcontrol,explores the relationship between self-control and learning results and its mechanism.The survey results show that the master students’ self-control on the whole is insufficient,and there are many influencing factors,which have a significant impact on their learning results.Firstly,the master students’ overall self-control is insufficient.In the dimension of impulse control,master students are prone to impulsive words and deeds when they are under too much pressure;In the dimension of resisting temptation,most students said that it was still difficult for them to resist the temptation of mobile phones and other electronic devices during their graduate studies.In the dimension of focused learning,the academic procrastination and learning burnout of master students are serious;In the dimension of health habits,the work and rest habits and exercise habits of master students are polarized.There is no significant difference in self-control of master students in household registration,university level,discipline category,grade,way of studying,type of master’s degree,title of tutor and whether they are only children,but there are differences in gender,paper publishing requirements and parental rearing patterns.Secondly,as far as the influencing factors of master students’ self-control,individual drive has a significant impact on self-control,and self-motivated master students with clear personal development plans often have better self-control;Timely and effective guidance from tutors and self-control education in schools can improve the self-control level of master students;Parental rearing patterns have a significant impact on self-control,and democratic rearing patterns are more conducive to cultivating children’s self-control.Thirdly,self-control has a significant impact on learning outcomes.The specific ways of influence are as follows:in the dimension of impulse control,the impulse of words and deeds will hinder the relationship between teachers and students and peer learning interaction;In the dimension of resisting temptation,it is generally difficult for master students to resist the temptation of the internet,which is not conducive to effective learning in class and in-depth learning after class;In the dimension of focused learning,academic procrastination will reduce the completion rate of learning tasks,and learning burnout will reduce individual lerning initiative;In the dimension of healthy habits,sleep procrastination will hinder the learning state,and physical exercise can regulate the academic mood,thus affecting the learning results.Based on the results of the above empirical analysis,this study puts forward the following three countermeasures and suggestions:as far as the individual level of master students is concerned,it is necessary to clarify the personal development plan and establish a correct concept of self-management;As far as postgraduate training units are concerned,we should strengthen the guidance of tutors and add courses related to self-control;As far as the family is concerned,we should adopt a democratic parenting style and carry out "traceless" education,so as to enhance the effectiveness of graduate education in all aspects. |
