One of the essential topics in basic education teaching is the design of extracurricular homework,which is also an important supplement and extension of teacher teaching.In addition to classroom teaching,homework aims to help improve students’ knowledge level and overall quality.However,with the popularization of exam oriented education,the difficulties faced by extracurricular homework have gradually become prominent.Especially after the promulgation of the "double reduction" policy,the national education department once again emphasized reducing the homework burden on students in the compulsory education stage,paying special attention to the practical implementation of the burden reduction for students in the third stage.Therefore,the difficulty of designing extracurricular homework for teachers has further increased.Based on this,this article conducted an investigation and research on this issue.In terms of research methods,this article adopts methods such as questionnaire survey,text analysis,and literature analysis.Taking the commonly set reading assignments in the third stage of primary school as an example,it investigates the current situation of Chinese reading assignment design in the third stage of primary school,in order to explore the problems in current reading assignment design and analyze the reasons for these problems in a targeted manner,Based on this,optimization strategies for reading assignment design are proposed based on the characteristics of students in the third stage of primary school.According to the survey,the main problems in the design of Chinese reading assignments in the third stage of primary school are as follows: the design purpose and basis of reading assignments are subjective;The design content of reading assignments lacks interest;The design types of reading assignments lack diversity;The hierarchical design of reading assignments lacks action;The evaluation of reading assignments lacks humanistic care.The reasons for these problems are: teachers’ traditional homework concepts are deeply rooted,teachers lack integration of existing educational resources,teachers’ reading homework design methods are single,teachers’ reading homework design ability is insufficient,and teachers’ teaching work is heavy and heavy.Based on the above analysis,an optimization strategy for reading assignment design has been proposed,which is to update the reading assignment design concept;Enrich the design content of reading assignments;Optimize the type of reading assignment design;Grasp the hierarchical characteristics of reading assignments;Establish a reading assignment evaluation system.The purpose of this study is to provide reference for the design of primary school Chinese homework,further standardize the design of Chinese reading homework in the third stage of primary school,promote the scientific,personalized,and intelligent design of reading homework,truly reduce students’ workload while improving the quality of reading homework design,maximize its expected efficiency,and enhance students’ reading literacy,In order to better leverage the education ecology of sustainable development.
