The Influence Of Digital Technology On The Social Mentality Of The Elderly

With the development of digital technology,digital technology is widely integrated into all walks of life to achieve technical empowerment,and at the same time,it also aggravates the survival dilemma of the digital divide of the elderly group.Taking health codes as an example,the widespread use of health codes has made great contributions to epidemic prevention and control in China,and has enhanced the confidence of the elderly group in epidemic prevention and control.However,for the elderly who do not use the health code,the use of the health code has not only become a stumbling block for them to travel,but even produced rejection and fear.The development of digital technology is unstoppable,the digital divide is widening,and the digital inequality is becoming more and more significant.Paying attention to the psychological feelings and emotional responses of the elderly to the current situation of social life has become not only a practical need,but also a theoretical need.Therefore,this thesis draws on classical theories such as social mentality theory,empowerment theory and digital divide theory,and comprehensively uses various research methods such as historical literature method,questionnaire survey method and interview method to investigate and statistically analyze the use of health code and the status quo of social mentality of the elderly.The use frequency,use motivation and use function of health code were taken as independent variables,and the dependent variables were four dimensions of social mentality,namely social emotion,social cognition,social values and social behavior intention.Through regression analysis,the following conclusions are drawn:(1)The elderly group has a high frequency of using health code,and a strong motivation to use it.(2)The use motivation of health code significantly positively affects the use frequency and use function of health code,among which perceived ease of use has the greatest impact on the use frequency and use function.(3)The social mentality of the elderly group is positive on the whole,but there are some negative attitudes.Age,education level and residence type have significant effects on the social mentality of the elderly group.(4)The use frequency and use function of health code significantly positively affect the four dimensions of social mentality.(5)After controlling the influence of demographic variables,the use frequency and use function of health code still have a significant positive impact on the four dimensions of social mentality of the elderly group,which verifies that the use of technology proposed by the empowerment theory can enhance the sense of gain and happiness of individuals.On the basis of the above analysis,this thesis discusses the mechanism of the influence of the use of digital technology on social mentality by combining the interview data.The research finds that digital technology mainly affects the use frequency and use function through the use motivation of technology,and the use behavior directly has the effect of technology empowerment or technology negative energy on social mentality.Therefore,the mechanism of digital technology affecting social mentality can be summed up in two ways.First,digital technology empowers social mentality,that is,digital technology enhances use behavior through the use of motivation to achieve the effect of emotional empowerment,cognitive empowerment,emotional empowerment and action empowerment,and then realize the social mentality empowerment.Second,digital technology can negatively affect social mentality,that is,when the use motivation is weak,the use of digital technology will produce negative energy of anxiety,useless cognition,self-efficacy and operation inconvenience,and then negatively affect social mentality.Finally,this thesis discusses how to better play the empowering effect of digital technology,help the elderly to cross the digital divide and reduce the negative impact of technology,and reflects on the shortcomings of this study,hoping that future research can continue to improve and deepen.
