In the information age, high school students, who are the natives of the digital age, lack sufficient sensitivity and coping ability in the face of information security issues due to their immature physical and mental development, and have difficulty in withstanding the temptations and deceptions of the information society,so their information security literacy needs to be cultivated and enhanced. The new curriculum emphasises the development of students’ information literacy, which includes the development of information awareness and information society responsibility similar to the concept of information security literacy. At the same time,project-based teaching and the new curriculum standard both emphasize student-oriented and guide students to actively construct knowledge. In response to the current situation of "knowledge over ethics" in high school IT teaching and related research, this study attempts to apply project-based teaching to high school IT classrooms in order to enhance students’ relevant knowledge and skills while improving students’ information security literacy, promote students’ all-round development, enhance students’ ability to discern information in the face of the ever-changing information age, provide new ideas and methods for the cultivation of information security literacy, and enrich and improve the teaching design of project-based teaching.Action research, literature research, questionnaire and interview methods were used to conduct this study.Firstly, through comprehensive reading of literature, the current situation of domestic and international research on information security literacy and project-based teaching was sorted out and summarised, and the literature review and theoretical foundation part of this paper was completed to explain the reason for choosing the topic.Secondly, the project-based teaching model of high school information technology for cultivating students’ information security literacy is constructed by analysing the teaching materials and learning conditions. Then, the constructed project-based teaching model was applied to teach in high school IT classrooms for practical application, and three rounds of teaching research were completed.Through observing and recording the results of each round of action research and analysing the results of practice, the teaching model was iteratively revised to gradually improve the senior secondary IT project-based teaching model for cultivating students’ information security literacy. Finally, synthesizing the results of the three rounds of action research,it is concluded that project-based teaching in IT courses is conducive to cultivating students’ information security literacy, enhancing their positive and responsible attitudes, keen insight, rational judgement and the ability to take proper precautions, and achieving the desired outcomes.
