| The rapid development of global technology has had a profound impact on people’s social life,posing new requirements for citizen literacy and talent cultivation.At present,with the rapid development of science and economy in our country,we are facing issues such as environmental protection,public health,and scientific ethics.The reasonable application of Social Science Issues(SSI)in science education can promote the formation of students’ views on the essence of science,cultivate their informal reasoning ability,and enhance their civic awareness and social responsibility.The "Curriculum Standards for High School Biology(Revised in 2020)" emphasizes the development of students’ core competencies in the field of biology,and social responsibility is a key element in the core competencies.However,the research on using SSI teaching to cultivate students’ social responsibility in high school biology classroom teaching is still in its infancy.Therefore,based on the analysis of the correlation between the connotation of biological social responsibility and the content of SSI teaching,this article studies the application of SSI teaching in cultivating students’ social responsibility in high school biology classroom teaching.The research results provide certain reference for high school biology front line teachers to effectively carry out SSI teaching,cultivate students’ social responsibility,and promote teacher professional development in the classroom.This study first reviewed relevant literature on SSI,SSI teaching,and social responsibility through literature research,and summarized the theoretical and practical research progress at home and abroad.It was found that there are not many specific guidance and practices for SSI application in cultivating students’ biological social responsibility;Secondly,through interviews and questionnaire surveys,it was found that high school students’ level of biological social responsibility literacy is not ideal.Teachers agree with the educational philosophy of SSI teaching and the possibility of combining it with cultivating students’ biological social responsibility;Subsequently,based on the review of SSI in high school biology textbooks and the selection of SSI based on cultivating students’ social responsibility,the application principles and strategies of SSI teaching in high school biology classroom teaching to cultivate students’ social responsibility were constructed.Control and experimental classes were selected for experiments,and it was found that SSI teaching based on cultivating students’ social responsibility can help improve students’awareness of paying attention to social issues and participating in topic discussions,Promote the formation of students’ concept of healthy life and cultivate their dialectical view of the relationship between science and technology and society.In short,it is possible to carry out SSI teaching based on students’ biological social responsibility,and the abundant SSI in high school biology textbooks can serve as teaching resources for cultivating social responsibility.Teachers can actively apply SSI teaching in high school biology classroom teaching,which has a promoting effect on students’understanding of biological knowledge and the cultivation of social responsibility. |
