A Preliminary Study On The Function And Layout Of Modern Chinese Buddhist Academy

The further spread and development of Buddhist culture depends on the cultivation of Buddhist talents,and Buddhist colleges will play an increasingly important role as a carrier for cultivating higher-level Buddhist talents.In recent years,the construction of Buddhist colleges has gradually sprung up in various places to cultivate Buddhist talents to promote the spread of Buddhist culture,making contemporary Buddhist culture a driving force for social development.With the development of the times,the original architectural functions of Buddhist temples have been unable to meet the needs of contemporary Buddhist education personnel training.The transformation of Buddhist education models and lifestyles requires new functional layouts to adapt to them.Transformation is a development trend in today’s Buddhist temple architecture.Therefore,it is of great significance to study the functional layout of contemporary Buddhist colleges.This paper mainly combines the development of Buddhist culture,Buddhist temple architecture,and educational institutions,and on the basis of the investigation,analysis and summary of domestic key Buddhist temples,higher education institutions,and established Buddhist colleges.The functional characteristics and layout characteristics are deeply explored and summarized,and an attempt is made to fully integrate Chinese traditional culture,architectural culture and regional characteristics into the design of the functional layout of the contemporary Buddhist college.First,from the perspectives of Buddhist culture,Buddhist temple architecture,and Buddhist colleges,combined with the design characteristics of contemporary Chinese educational institutions of higher learning,this paper summarizes the basic functions and expanded functions of contemporary Buddhist colleges;Based on the design factors of the function and layout of the Buddhist College,the design strategy of the function and layout of the contemporary Buddhist College is put forward.Finally,based on the whole process of participating in the design of the lower house of the Minnan Buddhist College,the design method of the function and layout of the contemporary Buddhist College is discussed.This paper summarizes the functions and layout characteristics of contemporary Buddhist colleges: First,the basic functional divisions of the contemporary Buddhist colleges are clarified.By comparing the space of educational institutions of higher learning and combining the characteristics of Buddhist schools,we explore the functional divisions that contemporary Buddhist colleges should have.Second,the spatial transformation of functions.In the design,attention should be paid to the contemporary transformation of the functional space of the Buddhist College to meet the needs of contemporary teaching activities.Third,the summary of the layout method.In terms of the functional layout of contemporary Buddhist colleges,we can refer to the planning techniques of contemporary universities and the characteristics of Buddhist architecture,and combine the similarities and differences between Buddhist education and social education to rationally distribute architectural functions.Fourth,rational streamline organization.The increase in the functions of contemporary Buddhist colleges has resulted in complicated streamlines.In the design,we should try our best to avoid the intersection of streamlines,so that the divisions of movement,static,internal and external,and cleanliness should be clearly defined.Fifth,in terms of space creation.Focus on four ways of building space,garden space,landscape control,and Zen space,inheriting traditional Chinese Buddhist temple garden space and design techniques.Through the above research,it is hoped that it can provide reference and reference significance for the construction of Buddhist colleges in the future.
