| Objective:In recent years,insufficient physical activity has become an important factor endangering the health of children and adolescents in China.P.E.is the basic organization form of school sports activities,which plays an important role in cultivating students’ interest in sports,teaching students’ sports skills and promoting their participation in activities.High school students spend most of their time in school every day.PE class is an important way for students to participate in physical activities.The amount of physical activity in PE class,especially the amount of medium-high intensity(MVPA)activity,is crucial to the development of students’ physical and mental health.In order to investigate the time status of MVPA in high school PE class,the influence of classroom factors on MVPA level in high school PE class was explored.In this study,accelerometers were used to measure students’ physical activity levels in PE class.SOFIT observation tool was used to observe and record the physical education classroom situation.The basic characteristics of the classroom were obtained by the short information table filled in by the teacher.Independent sample T test,one-way ANOVA,two-factor ANOVA and hierarchical linear regression model were used to analyze the status quo of MVPA level and the observation data of classroom factors.Result:(1)In the regular teaching time of 40 minutes,the MVPA time of senior high school students is 7.87 minutes,accounting for 21.45% of the whole class time,2.14 minutes of moderate intensity physical activity(MPA)and 5.73 minutes of high intensity physical activity(VPA).(2)There was a significant difference in MVPA time between males and females(P < 0.01),and the MVPA time of males was significantly higher than that of females.There was no significant difference in MVPA time among students of different grades(P > 0.05).(3)There was no significant difference in the percentage of MVPA time in total class time of PE students with different class time(regression coefficient B=-0.753,P =0.243)and class size(B=-0.152,P =0.808).There was a correlation between the percentage of MVPA time in the total classroom time of PE students in different class locations(B=-2.981,P < 0.01)and class gender structure(B=-1.827,P=0.01).Specifically,the percentage of MVPA time in the total classroom time of students outdoors was higher than that of students indoors;The percentage of MVPA time in PE class of boys was higher than that of girls.(4)There was a positive correlation between the time teachers organized students to play games(regression coefficient B=0.258,P =0.007),physical exercise(B=0.211,P =0.035)and skill exercise(B=0.215,P =0.023)and the percentage of MVPA time in the total class time.The time of organizing students’ free activities(B=0.159,P =0.234),classroom management(B=0.260,P =0.118)and knowledge explanation(B=-0.018,P =0.858)had no significant correlation with the percentage of MVPA time in the total classroom time.Conclusions :(1)There is still a big gap between the MVPA time of high school PE students and the international recommended 50% standard.(2)Outdoor classes can significantly increase students’ MVPA time.(3)MVPA time of PE class in boys’ class is higher than that in girls’ class.(4)Organizing students to play games and exercise their physical ability and skills is more conducive to increasing the time of MVPA.(5)In physical education class,teachers’ classroom management,knowledge explanation and organizing students’ free activities have no influence on students’ MVPA time. |
