| In the context of curriculum reform in the new era,more attention is paid to promoting students’ overall development,cultivating students’ comprehensive ability,that is to say,to develop students’ core literacy.The definitions,expressions and divisions in different subjects may be diverse.Given the characteristics of chemistry,"Chemistry Curriculum Standards for General High School(2017 Edition)" proposed the core literacy of chemistry and refined it into five aspects,among which the third aspect is "evidence reasoning and model cognition".This accomplishment prompts students to establish evidence awareness and modelling ideas,which plays a vital role in developing student’s ability and thinking.But,what strategies and teaching methods should be adopted to develop students’ literacy in “evidence reasoning and model cognition” is still to be explored and studied by scholars.After literature review and careful consideration,the thesis choses POE(prediction-observation-explanation),a classical teaching strategy to explore its relevance to the literacy in "evidence reasoning and model cognition".The research intends to provide a reference to the development of students’ literacy in "evidence reasoning and model cognition".This study firstly conducts a literature review on POE teaching strategies(prediction-obviation-explanation)and the core literacy of "evidential reasoning and model cognition" to understand the development direction and trend of the two at the current stage.Meanwhile,relevant questionnaires are set up to investigate the development status of "evidential reasoning and model cognition" literacy at the present stage.Based on the preparation above and from both the theoretical and practical perspectives,it further analyzes and identifies their essential elements,and reflects on combining the two to set up corresponding teaching model framework.Meanwhile,by drawing lessons from the related research on evaluation and curriculum level,it formulates that measure gauge for "evidence reasoning and model recognition".In addition,it,employing the experimental approach,selects two different types of topics,which are “electrolyte” and “iron compounds”,for teaching design and implementation.The pre-tests,post-tests and questionnaires are analyzed,and corresponding conclusions are drawn.Data analysis shows that the results of the experimental class are significantly improved,the evidence awareness of students is further strengthened,and the model cognitive ability is also improved considerably.To conclude,POE teaching strategy has a positive effect on developing students’ literacy in "evidence reasoning and model recognition".In addition,the teaching thinking framework established in the research may shed some light on designing the teaching of relating topics for first-line teachers.In other words,teachers also gain benefits while students’ literacy is enhanced.With effective verification and falsification delineating students’ psychological gradient,it proves that students’ learning motivation is stimulated and their comprehensive abilities and qualities such as problem thinking are developed. |
