In recent years,thanks to the advancement of mobile Internet technology,the Internet industry has developed rapidly,and online game enterprises have also taken advantage of it.While bringing leisure and entertainment to people,the development of online game enterprises has also contributed to the economic growth of the industry.However,the operation mode of online game enterprises is very different from that of traditional enterprises,especially in terms of transactions,revenue recognition and measurement.Although revenue standards are also being updated,there is still a lack of specific guidance for the online game industry,so in terms of accounting practice,especially the treatment of special operations,different enterprises may have different practices.Such problems also exist in the recognition and measurement of revenue,which greatly reduces the comparability of accounting information among enterprises.Youzu Interactive Co.,Ltd.is a large comprehensive online game enterprise,which enjoys a high reputation in the industry.With its early start and many years of precipitation,the business model of Youzu is relatively more comprehensive,and the revenue recognition and measurement methods adopted are more common in the industry.Therefore,Youzu is somewhat representative of this industry.By studying its revenue recognition issue,it has some valuable reference for the Internet game industry.By reading relevant literature and summarizing it,we understand the research results in this field,and use Youzu as a research case and revenue recognition as a research area to extract the main points of the research,so as to establish the framework and specific content of the thesis.This thesis mainly reviews the existing literature from two directions of revenue recognition and online game enterprises’ revenue recognition,and also introduces the theoretical basis and principles related to revenue recognition,on this basis,the development overview of Youzu is taken as the starting point,and the revenue sources of Youzu,the three operation modes and the corresponding revenue recognition as well as forecasting methods under different circumstances are highlighted,and the revenue recognition characteristics of Youzu are extracted.For the main problems in the revenue recognition process of Youzu,the reasons for their formation are analyzed,and feasible suggestions are put forward for the problems of revenue forecasting model risk,sedimentary revenue recognition,combined operation revenue recognition,revenue expense matching and player life cycle forecasting from the internal and external aspects of the enterprise,in conjunction with the new revenue standard.This thesis follows the idea of identifying problems,analyzing the causes,and solving problems by combining actual case.The main reasons for the revenue recognition problem of Youzu are that the complex and special business model of online game industry brings controversial accounting treatment and the lack of specific guidelines of accounting standards for online game industry.Accordingly,countermeasures are proposed to improve the revenue recognition of Youzu,and relevant suggestions are also made to the new revenue standard in order to provide better targeted guidance for the online game industry and thus improve the quality of accounting information of relevant enterprises.
