College ceremonies,rather than being a simple norm or innovation,are simultaneously an element of the structure of the university system,an opportunity for participation in atmosphere building,and a type of student activity.As the carrier of ideological and political education,it also has the function of conveying common ideals and convictions and values.How to carry out ideological and political education through rituals? How did the participants respond to the ritual design,atmosphere,and activities? Does such a response match the ideals,beliefs and value pursuits carried and conveyed by ritual education?Focusing on the three issues,,this research cuts in from the perspective of subject participation.Guided by the epistemology of Marx’s principle,the methodology of ideological and political education,and Collins’ interaction Ritual Chain theory.Discuss the educational implication in the practice of university ritual education and the reality and mechanism of students’ emotional interaction reaction to it,in order to reveal the theoretical significance of university ritual education at the micro level,and deepen the practical application of university ritual education in ideological and political education.This study adopts qualitative research methods and selects 30 college students from6 universities in Zhejiang Province as the research objects for interviews.In the process of using NVivo11 software to encode more than 110,000 words of text data and field data,the "element-process" research thinking in Collins theory is followed,and the content of "symbol interaction" and "emotional interaction" in theory is used.From the perspectives of school education implication and students’ emotional reaction,analyze the reaction reality and process mechanism of students’ emotional experience under the three types of ritual education of "transition ceremony","commendation ceremony",and "political ceremony" in colleges and universities.Research and analysis found that,first of all,in transitional ceremonies,colleges and universities demonstrated the process of shaping the citizenship,student status,and social status of participants through the interaction of symbols such as "national flags,school badges,and caps" on the scene.Under the shaping of such an identity consciousness,students combine their own interactions and gradually progress from the experience of "expectation,acceptance,and goal" to reproduce the sense of identity experience that the school expects to occur;Secondly,in commendation ceremonies,colleges and universities set up,"selection rules,model demonstrations,material rewards" and other symbolic interactions,showing the process of guiding participants in moral cultivation,ideological concepts,and behavioral norms.Under such a positive honor orientation,students combine their own interactions and gradually superimpose one by one from the experience of "recognition,pride,and worship",regenerating an experience of honor that conforms to the mainstream value of society;Finally,in political ceremonies,colleges and universities demonstrated the process of standardizing the participants’ political emotions,attitudes,and values through the interaction of symbols such as "party emblem,joint action,collective memory" set up on the spot.Under such a norm of the unity of knowledge and action,students combine their own interactions and gradually extrapolate from the experience of "role,practice",and reproduce the experience of responsibility and mission that meets the requirements of political organizations.In summary,according to ideological and political education,4he success of college ceremonies does not lie in discerning its overall efficacy,but in finding out whether and how it can realize the collectivization and socialization of student participants’ individual emotions,and how to promote individual values and behavior choices to conform to the mainstream values of society.In this process,the emotional engagement,radiance,and enhancement of student participants are not a simple transition,but a complex reproduction process in which school ritual education symbols,norms and environments are weighed against each other with self-awareness,ideals,and missions.Achieving positive and authentic emotional experience and collective cohesion is an important criterion for examining the effectiveness of ritual education.Furthermore,The practical mechanism can be summarized as: under the ritual education of colleges and universities,student participants rely on the coordinated control of the three systems(emotional rules-emotional weighing-emotional response),and the final emotional experience results are connected and circulated among the environment,self and society.Based on the reality,in the future,ritual education in colleges and universities must be improved from three aspects:building a cultural system of ritual system,strengthening the supportive focus in the scene,and recreating the value consensus in the interaction of the group.
