Exploring the nature of science is the core content of science curriculum.As the guide of students’ learning career,teachers’ attitude towards the nature of science will affect their own teaching behavior.It will affect students’ attitude towards the nature of science as well.As the key role of basic education and science education in the future,pre-service chemistry teachers are a group of energetic participants in education reform.So they should have higher scientific literacy and deeper understanding of the nature of science.In this way,in the future teaching,it is more likely to teach students the knowledge of chemistry,and at the same time guide them to understand the full picture of science from a deeper and broader perspective,capture the essence of scientific disciplines,and improve students’ core literacy of chemistry disciplines.On the one hand,developing the nature of science course in the pre-service education stage of chemistry teachers can learn the level of pre-service chemistry teachers’ view of the nature of science,on the other hand,it can improve their understanding of the nature of science.In the past,the nature of science education mainly focused on the related theories of the nature of science,which easily made the audience feel bored and difficult to accept.Popular science micro videos,as an emerging medium of science education communication,can use animation,live shooting and other methods to vividly and interestingly display the experimental process,the history of science and other content.The dissemination speed is fast,the content closely follows current affairs and hot spots,and it is social and interdisciplinary.Therefore the popular science micro videos can be easily found and accepted by students and teachers in the era of ubiquitous learning,and it can have great potential as a carrier of the nature of science courses.Based on the perspectives of philosophy of science,sociology of science and science education,a frame of essential characteristics of science can be set up to guide the curriculum practice.On the theoretical basis of the framework,two trainers designed a 4-week course on the nature of science for 25 pre-service chemistry teachers,using the analysis and the development of popular science micro videos teaching media.Through teaching practice,the results reveal the understanding of the nature of science held by the pre-service chemistry teachers,and explore the influence of the analysis and the development of popular science micro videos teaching media on the pre-service chemistry teacher’s view of the nature of science.The results show that the pre-service chemistry teachers have an incomplete understanding of the nature of science.They are more likely to pay attention to the importance of evidence and reasoning in scientific methods.The verification and falsification of science are also on their mind.They pay less attention to the relationship between science and society.They can only recognize the relationship between science and people’s livelihood which is close to their own life experience.The analysis and the development of popular science micro videos teaching media have the potential to improve pre-service chemistry teachers’ views of the nature of science.The sound and language expressions in the videos,the setting of questions in class,the way of reporting and pre-service chemistry teachers’own factors will all affect their views of the nature of science.The first chapter puts forward the problem,mainly discusses the origin of the study,and makes clear the study direction and thinking.The second chapter is a literature review.According to the existing literature,the development history of the nature of science in the fields of philosophy of science,sociology of science and science pedagogy is summarized,the overall level of science teachers’ views of the nature of science are expounded,the widely used scale of observation quantity of the nature of science is introduced,and the framework of the characteristics of the nature of science is established.The purpose of the framework is to describe the whole picture of science from a broad and diverse perspective.The third chapter is the course design and implementation process,including the main course process,the concept of problem design,the principle of video selection and the way of coding.The fourth chapter is the research results.The results show that the pre-service chemistry teachers have a one-sided understanding of the nature of science.They can pay attention to the importance of evidential reasoning in scientific research and the nature of verification and falsification of science,but lack of understanding of the relationship between science and society.The analysis and development of popular science micro videos teaching media have the possibility to improve the views of the nature of science of pre-service chemistry teachers.The problem design,video selection,and pre-service chemistry teachers’ educational background in the course may influence the development of the views of the nature of science for the pre-service chemistry teachers.The fifth chapter is the conclusion,inspiration and prospect of the research.By reviewing the results of theoretical research and empirical research,the thesis draws a conclusion,and reflects on the deficiencies in the course of classroom design and implementation.Based on this,the paper puts forward research prospects.
