| The Olympic Games began in 1896,and 124 years have passed.As a grand event for global athletes,it not only provides a platform for exchanges between Eastern and Western cultures,but also displays the various functions of sports to the extreme.As one of the most intuitive ways of expressing culture,the emblem has become the totem of every Olympic Games.It can span time and space,show people the understanding of the Olympic spirit in different countries and cities,and convey the profound cultural connotation and humanistic characteristics of the Olympic venue.This research takes the summer,winter and Youth Olympic emblems as the object.Through the symbolic analysis of the Olympic emblems,the linguistic and non-verbal symbols contained in the emblems are disassembled.The signifier and signified of signs,as well as the application of accompanying text in the process of meaning construction,analyze the cultural significance of the Olympic emblem.Among them,the literature data method is used to summarize the origin and development of the Olympic emblem;the content analysis method is used to make simple statistics on the nonverbal and linguistic symbols appearing in the Olympic emblem;Refer to a one-toone correspondence analysis.To interpret the cultural meaning of the Olympic emblem,and put forward specific suggestions on the construction of the cultural meaning of the Olympic emblem.The results of the research are as follows:The Olympic emblem is an important cultural carrier of each Olympic host country.When considering the construction of the elements of the Olympic emblem,the designers of each host country often symbolize the traditional culture of the host country and apply it to the emblem.The accompanying text and media of the emblem contributed to the generation of the meaning of the Olympic emblem text,especially the inner meaning.The construction of the meaning of the Olympic emblem is restricted by four aspects:the communicator’s meaning,the broadcaster’s meaning,the environment’s meaning and the media.The emblems of the previous Olympic Games are essentially an important part of the visual image of the Olympic Games,and are the external manifestations of the Olympic Games’ hosting philosophy and the Olympic spirit.The Olympic emblems have increasingly become an important part of cross-cultural communication.The meaning of the Olympic emblems and the national image are Construction is closely related.It is suggested that the development of the Olympic emblem should take national culture as the main design idea to highlight cultural self-confidence and avoid homogeneity;at the same time,it is necessary to establish the brand awareness of the Olympic emblem to promote social and economic development.For the emblems of large-scale competitions,the design characteristics of the Olympic emblems can be fully used for reference,based on the urban culture,and create regional characteristics. |
