| The 7th World Military Games(Wuhan Military Games),with the largest number of participants,as the most influential Games in the history of the World Military Games,is a grand sports feast,and it has been praised,concerned and expected by the media and people all over the world.The opening ceremony of this military games has received unanimous praise.With its bright theme and brilliant opening ceremony,Wuhan Military Games is a large-scale media ceremony.It consists of a series of symbols endowed with connotations and meanings.It is used to spread the country’s history and culture,shape the country’s image and becomes an important opportunity to demonstrate the country’s soft power.With the sweeping wave of globalization,cultural exchanges between countries have become more frequent,and various large-scale international sports events,which are important platforms for cultural exchanges,have also received more and more attention from people.The opening ceremony has become a much-anticipated part of the event.It is worth studying in depth.This article selects the opening ceremony of Wuhan Military Games broadcasted by CCTV in 2019 as the research object,using documentary materials,text analysis,content analysis,and expert interviews as the main research methods,and discusses the Wuhan Military Games from the perspective of semiotics.An in-depth analysis of the opening ceremony of the Games was conducted in order to interpret the cultural connotation and symbolic meaning conveyed behind the media ceremony,and to provide corresponding experience and reference for future large-scale cultural exchange activities.First of all,this article categorized the symbols appeared in the opening ceremony of the Wuhan Military Games into three categories:language,visual and auditory symbols,and briefly summarized them;secondly,interpreted the signifiers and signifiers of the symbols appeared in the opening ceremony;thirdly,explored the context of symbolic meaning construction in the opening ceremony;fourth,discussed the connotation of these three categories generated by symbols,analyzed the symbols appeared in the opening ceremony from the three levels of symbols,implicated meanings and myths,and deeply interpreted the profound connotations and cultural concepts conveyed behind the media ceremony;finally drew relevant conclusions and suggestions for improvement of large-scale media ceremonies in the future.The opening ceremony of the Wuhan Military Games used various symbols such as culture,history,sports,military,values,etc.,expounding China’ s thousands of years of "harmony" wisdom and the military thoughts of "stopping fighting for military" and "peace".Also,it has shown to the world the Chinese people’s advocacy and pursuit of harmony,peace and civilization since ancient times,and conveyed the message of fraternity,unity,tolerance,and friendship to all mankind.In addition,it has created a strong and distinctive image of the country and city,enhanced national cohesion,and established cultural values and cultural identity. |
