In the long struggle of leading the new-democratic revolution,Mao Zedong combined the Marxist military theory with the concrete reality of the Chinese revolution, constantly summed up the successful experience and failed lessons of the Chinese revolution, and creatively constructed a complete set of military theories with Chinese characteristics-Mao Zedong’s military thought.Mao Zedong’s guerrilla warfare thought is an important part of it,which provides scientific guidance for the development and growth of the people’s army from small to large and from weak to strong in the revolutionary war. Therefore,it is of great academic and practical value to make a systematic and in-depth historical investigation of Mao Zedong’s guerrilla warfare thought.During the Agrarian Revolution,Mao Zedong summed up the guerrilla war experience represented by the "Sixteen-character Tactics" in the revolutionary practice of establishing Jinggangshan Revolutionary Base and Central Revolutionary Base, which marked the initial formation of Mao Zedong’s guerrilla war thought.Under the guidance of Mao Zedong’s guerrilla warfare thought, the Red Army won the first to fourth counter-campaigns against "encirclement and suppression".Later, however, due to the left-leaning dogmatists crowding out Mao Zedong’s leadership, fighting positional warfare and war of attrition with the superior enemy, the fifth counter-campaign against "encirclement and suppression" was finally defeated, and the Red Army was forced to make a long March. However, the left-behind Red Army in eight southern provinces persisted in guerrilla warfare for three years, and after the outbreak of the all-out anti-Japanese war,it was reorganized into the New Fourth Army, becoming a powerful force in the anti-Japanese battlefield.During the Anti-Japanese War,Mao Zedong wrote a series of military works, which further raised guerrilla warfare to the strategic height of opposing Japanese imperialist aggression, and systematically expounded the principles, strategies and tactics of guerrilla warfare.Mao Zedong’s guerrilla warfare thought became mature in an all-round way.Under the guidance of this thought, the Eighth Route Army and the New Fourth Army went deep into the enemy’s rear and relied on the support of the people to create anti-Japanese base areas behind the enemy’s rear.In this process, not only the content and form of guerrilla warfare have been developed, but also the people’s army has been constantly strengthened and become the mainstay of resistance to Japanese imperialist aggression.During the War of Liberation, although mobile warfare and positional warfare became the main forms of war,Mao Zedong still attached great importance to the important role of guerrilla warfare. Not only that, but he also gave more specific classified guidance to guerrilla warfare in various places according to the actual situation of each place, especially the comparison between the forces of the enemy and ourselves. Therefore,Mao Zedong’s guidance to guerrilla warfare in various places in this period is more targeted.Under the specific guidance of Mao Zedong, the local military and civilians actively carried out guerrilla warfare, persisted in the struggle, defeated the Kuomintang’s all-round attack and key attack, and played an important role in supporting and coordinating the victory of the People’s Liberation War and welcoming liberation. In a word,Mao Zedong’s guerrilla warfare thought is an important manifestation of Mao Zedong’s people’s war thought, which provides scientific guidance for the survival, development and growth of the people’s army and plays a very important role in Mao Zedong’s military thought.A series of basic principles contained in it still have important guiding significance under the conditions of modern war.First, even if the enemy is strong and we are weak,we can’t lose our confidence in winning.Second,it is necessary to determine the form of war and its strategy and tactics according to the comparison between the forces of the enemy and ourselves;Third, the military-civilian-fish-water relationship army is a magic weapon to win in an invincible position forever. In the long struggle of leading the new-democratic revolution,Mao Zedong combined the Marxist military theory with the concrete reality of the Chinese revolution, constantly summed up
