A Study Of Saudi Arabia’s Relationship With The Organization Of Islamic Cooperation

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation is the second largest intergovernmental organization in the world,and has played a pivotal role in fostering exchanges and solidarity among Islamic countries,promoting peace and development in the Islamic world,facilitating the integration of Islamic countries and regions into the globalization process,and contributing to the transformation of the international system.Over the past 50 years,Saudi Arabia has played a leading role in the creation,transformation and development of the organization,while the OIC has provided Saudi Arabia with a multilateral diplomatic platform for exchanges and cooperation with the region and the world,and the two rely on each other and promote each other,indicating that the relationship between Saudi Arabia and the OIC is special and important.The study of the relationship between Saudi Arabia and the OIC is important for exploring the politics of the Islamic world and promoting the development of new international relations.In this paper,we focus on the relationship between Saudi Arabia and OIC through case studies and other methods.In the process of interaction between the two,a positive interaction has gradually formed in some fields and some classic cases of cooperation have emerged.This paper selects three case studies in the fields of cultural heritage tourism,economic and trade financing,and environmental security,specifically analyzes the basis and results of their cooperation,assesses their development effectiveness,and clarifies the problems in the development of Saudi-IEC relations through case studies,highlighting the special characteristics of their relations in the Islamic world.The paper finds that grasping the relationship between Saudi Arabia and OIC has important implications for China’s handling of its relations with the Islamic world in the context of the transformation of the international system,which is conducive to the docking of the "Belt and Road"initiative with the development strategy of the Islamic world,facilitating the establishment of a new type of international relations with win-win cooperation.It is also conducive to the further development of China-Islam relations and the establishment of a new type of international relations with win-win cooperation.
