Research On Influencing Factors Of The Charitable Donations By Chinese Rural Household

With the transformation and development of China’s philanthropy,the philanthropy in China has gradually changed from a top-down plan charity in the past to a civic charity where ordinary people can participate from the bottom-up.China’s philanthropy has gradually become an important part of social undertakings.Although the development of China’s philanthropy has reached a new level,there are still outstanding problems and severe challenges,including the backward development of philanthropy in rural areas,the rural residents’ enthusiasm for donation and the lack of stability.Therefore,under the new situation,it is more important to fully and continuously play the role of each charity subject to promote the development of public welfare charity.In China,the family-centered culture has a profound impact on Chinese charitable donations.Rural families have a strong family culture.Rural families are an important force to promote charitable donations in rural areas.Therefore,it is particularly urgent to promote rural families to actively participate in philanthropy,and to estimate the current status of domestic rural family charitable donations and analysis of related influencing factors.So,specifically,what factors will affect the charitable donations of rural families? Will there be different influencing factors for participating in donations in different fields? Compared with urban families,are there differences in the factors affecting charitable donations of rural families?This article analyzes the theoretical mechanism of different factors affecting charitable donations in rural households.Using the data of the "China Labor Force Dynamics Survey" in 2012,2014 and 2016,first analyzes the status quo of charitable donations by rural households in China and understands the charitable donations of rural households in my country.On the basis of the basic situation,the panel Logit model and the panel Tobit model were constructed to test the influence of individual characteristics of principals,family characteristics and community environment on the participation rate of rural household donations,absolute donations,relative donations and donation areas.Finally,based on the analysis of the status quo and the results of the model test,policy recommendations are put forward to promote the enthusiasm and stability of charitable donations in rural families in my country,and to improve the development of my country’s public welfare charities.The main conclusions are as follows:(1)The overall donation level and donation enthusiasm of rural families in my country is not high,and compared with urban families,the enthusiasm and level of donation of rural families are lower.(2)The individual characteristics of the principal,family characteristics and community environment all affect the donation participation rate,absolute donation amount and relative donation amount of rural families to varying degrees.Among them,the gender,age,years of education and health status of the principal have a significant impact on the donation participation and absolute donation amount of rural households;family income,per capita education years,proportion of family party members,and proportion of population aged 14 and below Increasing the participation and absolute donation amount of rural households can be increased.Family income has a U-shaped curve relationship with the relative donation amount of rural households;the average social donation activities of community residents have significant influence on the participation rate,absolute donation amount and relative donation amount of rural households The positive impact.(3)The influencing factors of rural families participating in various donation fields are also different.The proportion of family members who believe in religion is the main factor affecting rural residents’ participation in religious donations;the individual characteristics of the principal,family characteristics and community environment are also affected to varying degrees Rural families participate in donations in the areas of neighbourhood and community service,traditional philanthropy,and modern philanthropy.(4)The main factors affecting the expenditure of charitable donations of urban and rural families are significantly different.In terms of donation participation rate,the promotion effect of income donation participation in rural families is higher than that of urban families,and rural families have stronger party membership effects;The number of years of education and the proportion of full-time family employment are both shown as a higher level of growth-promoting effect for urban families;the education and length of the principal and the proportion of households over 65 have a significant positive impact on the participation rate of urban household donations.As far as the amount of donation is concerned,the average number of years of education of urban households and the proportion of full-time employment in the family have a higher level of growth-promoting effect than rural households.Based on the above conclusions,on the basis of combining the social background and the current reality,this paper proposes that China should gradually increase the income level of rural residents and encourage high income Groups participate more in charity;improve the quality of rural education and cultivate residents’ awareness of charity;give full play to the advantages of rural communities and guide residents to learn from positive behavior consciously,thereby promoting the continuous development of China’s charity.
