| 2022 marks the tenth anniversary of the official launch of the "China Central and Eastern Europe Cooperation Mechanism".For over a decade,this mechanism has played an important role in promoting friendly and cooperative relations between China and Central and Eastern European countries,especially in promoting practical cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European countries.At the same time,as the official newspaper of the CPC,People’s Daily has been rated as one of the "top ten newspapers in the world" by UNESCO.The news information it collects covers more than 100 countries in China and the world,which is very authoritative and typical.Therefore,this study takes the reports of People’s Daily on Central and Eastern European countries as the research object,and uses content analysis and discourse analysis methods to explore the discourse characteristics of People’s Daily’s reports on Central and Eastern European countries,in order to provide reference for the discourse practice of Chinese media.On the occasion of the tenth anniversary of China Central and Eastern Europe cooperation,combined with the background of the rise of domestic news discourse research in recent years.This study uses discourse analysis and content analysis as the main methods,and takes the Central and Eastern European reporting texts published by the People’s Daily from 2012 to 2022 as the research object.Based on Fairclough’s critical discourse analysis and Van Dijk’s news discourse analysis as the theoretical foundation,it progresses layer by layer from three aspects: text analysis,discourse practice,and social practice.It summarizes the discourse characteristics of the People’s Daily’s reporting on Central and Eastern European countries,explores the reasons for the emergence of discourse The knowledge system behind the discourse and the social identity constructed by the discourse,and on this basis,summarize the thinking and inspiration of People’s Daily on reporting on Central and Eastern European countries.The specific research ideas are as follows:Firstly,at the textual level,this study analyzes the text title,discourse vocabulary,text style,and metaphor.Among them,title analysis includes modal and sentence structure analysis of the title;Discourse vocabulary analysis includes the analysis of high-frequency vocabulary and lexical functions.Secondly,at the level of discourse practice,this study makes an in-depth discussion on intertextuality,including explicit intertextuality and inter discourse.The explicit intertextuality includes three aspects:discourse description,source of information and presupposition;Mutual discourse is analyzed from both horizontal and vertical dimensions.At the level of discourse practice,this study also applies Van Dik’s news schema theory to analyze text and social representation.By analyzing news schemas of different genres,the text connects social events and builds a bridge between discourse and social reality.Once again,at the level of social practice,this study explores the social relationships,knowledge systems,and social identities behind discourse through the analysis of the previous text,and explores the hidden relationship between discourse and ideology in the dimension of social practice.Finally,summarize the above research results and summarize the thinking and inspiration of People’s Daily on reporting on Central and Eastern European countries.Through research,it has been found that the coverage of Central and Eastern European countries by People’s Daily is closely related to social and economic conditions,national policies,and media concepts.Its internal knowledge system includes a sense of mutual benefit and win-win interests as a "community",an open and inclusive civilization as a "community",and a shared future as a "community" for mutual survival and prosperity.The People’s Daily,while reporting on Central and Eastern European countries,has also shaped a diverse national image,including an open and inclusive political image,a mutually beneficial economic image,and a proactive diplomatic image.As a mainstream media in China,People’s Daily has played an important benchmark role in reporting in Central and Eastern European countries,providing profound thinking and inspiration for mainstream media in China’s future reporting practices,mainly reflected in guiding public opinion and adhering to positive discourse orientation;Good at constructing and building a diverse national image;Using metaphors skillfully and integrating into the international discourse system.In future reporting,the media should focus on balancing reporting and creating information diversity;Strengthen in-depth reporting and enhance international discourse power;Pay attention to the public’s perspective and enhance content proximity. |
