| The continuous improvement of the endowment insurance is conducive to actively responding to population aging and alleviating residents’ pension problems. In rural areas where the population is aging too rapidly, the government has implemented the New Rural Social Endowment Insurance(NSEI)to alleviate the pension problems of rural residents. With the development of related research, more and more scholars focus on the influence of government trust on participation of NSEI.This thesis uses rural residents in the 2021 China Social Conditions Survey as the research sample, and uses the Probit model to investigate the effect of government trust on the participation of NSEI and to test the mechanism of the role of socia l equity perceptions in the process of government trust influence on NSEI participation behavior. The results show that government trust can significantly and positively influence participation of NSEI,and the findings still hold after considering the endogeneity issue and replacing the regression model and core explanatory variables.Through the moderating effect model, the study finds that social equity perceptions can play a positive moderating role in the process of government trust influencing NSEI participation.Further tests find that the effect of government trust in promoting NSEI participation is more significant and influential in regions with higher government transparency and aging. The innovations and main contributions of this paper are:(1)It enriches the theoretical system of trust on participation of NSEI,and verifies the influence of government trust on NSEI participation;(2)It expands the research on the mechanism channel through which government trust affects participation of NSEI;(3)It enriches the research on the influence of government behavior on social security policy, and provides empirical references for the promotion of social security policy. |
