The Study On The Change Of Political Participation Of Chinese Political Parties Since Malaysia’s Independence

As political organizations representing the interests of the Chinese people,the Chinese political parties are " as close as lips and teeth " with the Chinese society.Its rise and fall and the process of political participation reflect the orientation of Chinese social political practice and the change of political status.This paper uses comparative analysis methods to study the changes of the political participation of Chinese political parties in Malaysia,puts Chinese political parties in the relationship of "Chinese society--Chinese political parties--Malaysian political ecosystem" for analysis,reviews the background of political participation of Chinese political parties,the development of Chinese political parties,and sorts out the historical process of political participation of Chinese political parties.The political participation of Chinese political parties in the Malay political mainstream environment,the main ways of political participation are parliamentary elections,government office and participation in social movements.It has taken nearly a century from the awakening of local political participation in Chinese society to the emergence of Chinese political parties.The practice of political participation by Chinese political parties has brought about multiple political effects,built an open political ecological environment in Malaysia,promoted the sustainable development of Chinese political parties and demonstrated the substitutability of Chinese political party representatives.The change of political participation behavior of Chinese political parties is mainly reflected in the evolution of dominant subjects,content and methods of political participation.Among them,the ruling Chinese political party has evolved from MCA to DAP,and the content of political participation has changed from applying for citizenship rights to defending Chinese identity such as Chinese education and Chinese culture,to opposing Islamic countries and government corruption.The way of political participation ranges from participating in political elections and joining armed protests to only taking the road of political elections.The fate of Chinese political parties is deeply affected by ethnic politics and party alliance model,and they have never been in the power center in Malaysia,and their political participation behavior reflects passivity and vassalage.Therefore,Chinese political parties urgently need to reform,seize the opportunity of the current political structure adjustment period,commit to the dynamic balance of power,and get rid of the shackles of ethnic politics.
