The national image is an important business card for a country’s foreign exchanges and an important component of its soft power.The dissemination of national image is conducive to enhancing the comprehensive national strength and enhancing international competitiveness of a country.Since the new era,China has continuously strengthened international cooperation and made important contributions to promoting regional peace and development,establishing the international image of a responsible major country.As an important member of Southeast Asia and an important neighbor of China,Singapore actively participates in China’s "the Belt and Road" cooperation initiative and plays an important role in deepening China Singapore relations and promoting regional development.At the same time,in the complex international situation,China’s peaceful rise has been interpreted by Western media as a malicious strategic intention such as the "China threat theory",which to some extent has brought negative impacts to China’s national image in Singapore and even Southeast Asia,which is not conducive to presenting the true image of China as a country.In this context,it is particularly necessary to explore China’s national image dissemination strategies towards Singapore in the new era.This paper is based on political science and analyzes the necessity and significance of China’s dissemination of Singapore’s national image in the context of the international situation.This article discusses the characteristics of China’s national image presented in the cooperation and exchanges between China and Singapore from three aspects of politics,economy,and culture,and analyzes the effectiveness of China’s dissemination of national image towards Singapore through relevant research reports.Research has found that China has established a mutually beneficial economic image,a political image of surrounding security,and a friendly cultural image in Singapore.At the same time,the Singaporean people have a good understanding and evaluation of the overall image of China,which is closely related to the friendly cooperation and cultural exchanges between China and Singapore.On the basis of this research,this paper points out the problems and shortcomings of China’s current national image dissemination towards Singapore,and proposes suggestions for optimizing China’s national image dissemination towards Singapore from the national,civil,and media levels using a multidisciplinary integration approach.This paper is of positive significance as a precise case study to explore the "one country,one policy" of China’s foreign communication of its national image in the new era and to promote friendly diplomatic relations between China and Singapore.
