Research On International Cooperation In Contemporary Global Migration Governance

Due to all the realities of the world’s chaos and conflicts among the great powers,the destiny of human beings is becoming more and more closely linked together,and understanding "cooperation" from a global perspective and mind has become an urgent need in theory and practice.If the main theme of today’s world is peace and development,then the issue of international migration is the important note that determines whether the main theme is beautiful and harmonious.The World Migration Report 2022 notes that there will be approximately 281 million international migrants in the world in 2020,equivalent to 3.6% of the global population.Although migration is a long-standing structural feature of globalization,there are still significant uncertainties about how to govern this issue,and therefore,how to move toward a future of migration governance in the form of "cooperation" practices is a common issue for the contemporary international community.This paper takes the contemporary international cooperation on global migration governance as the research object,and summarizes the relevant historical development characteristics of international cooperation on global migration governance through the three stages.By analyzing the four contradictory relationships between "national sovereignty and migrant rights," "international responsibility and national interests," "security and development," and "multiculturalism and national identity," we explore the dilemmas and problems of international cooperation in contemporary global migration governance.It also constructs a systematic framework and practical path for international cooperation on global migration governance from three dimensions: "values","governance capacity" and "institutional construction",and proposes cooperation on three specific issues of migration governance under the perspective of global governance.In addition,we propose cooperation strategies for three specific issues of migration governance from the perspective of global governance.Finally,focusing on our country,we put forward the shortcomings in the current practice of cooperation on migration governance from the domestic governance and external interaction of our country’s global migration governance,and look forward to the ways to respond to the international cooperation on migration governance in China from five directions.
