In the 1990 s,mainstream TV platforms in China began to hold youth themed evening parties,targeting the audience as young people.Since the 21 st century,more and more youth themed parties have been broadcast on major mainstream media platforms.In recent years,there have also been youth themed parties founded by online video platforms,actively undertaking the important task of assisting the construction of youth image in the new era.In order to study the construction of contemporary youth images in youth themed parties,the article innovatively adopts content analysis,questionnaire survey,and in-depth interview methods to study the youth images created in youth themed parties since 2011 and their construction effects.This article takes the youth themed evening party as the research object,taking 33 evening parties broadcast since 2011 as a sample,and explores the construction of the youth image of the youth themed evening party from the perspective of the theory of communication ceremony.After analysis,it summarizes different types of contemporary youth images such as patriotic dedication,dedication,self-confidence,optimism,pursuit of personality,and the "different" youth reflected in the party.A questionnaire survey was conducted on the construction effect of the youth image at the youth themed evening party.After statistical analysis of 700 questionnaires collected,it was found that the content of the youth themed evening party greatly affects the construction of the youth image.The stronger the ceremonial identity during the construction and dissemination of the youth image at the youth themed evening party,the higher the cultural and national identity.In order to further understand the effect of contemporary youth image construction at youth themed parties,in-depth interviews were conducted with 10 representative young people around four aspects of the audience’s media usage,audience behavior,content understanding,and party identification at youth themed parties.Through research,it has been found that different youth themed parties adopt different party themes,construct youth images in various forms and rich program content,and portray outstanding three-dimensional youth images.At present,there are four problems in the construction of contemporary youth images in youth themed parties: the weak communication effect of youth themed parties,the media game of youth discourse rights,the excessive grandiosity of youth image construction,and the "resistance" between youth subculture and mainstream media.To this end,mainstream television media should increase the intensity of Internet communication,transform the way of communication discourse,strengthen the sense of media ceremony,and use a more youthful voice and program content closer to youth groups to make it easier for young people to resonate,thereby setting an example for young audiences as a youth image.
