Abstract/Summary:
Research: Alertness level refers to the ability of an organism to maintain concentration and alertness to stimuli over a long period of time, divided into alertness and vigilance. In the current military situation of frequent human-computer interaction and rapid technological development, the impact of alertness level on the operational efficiency of military personnel is becoming increasingly significant, and there is an urgent need to conduct research on alertness level. This study explores the classification cutoff points of alertness level, establishes a method for classifying alert populations, and explores the changes in alertness level under military training fatigue,in order to identify the decline characteristics and critical time points of alertness under fatigue conditions, and provide theoretical and methodological support for alertness warning, intervention, and job selection for high alert populations.Research methods: Explore the stimulus interval cut-off point of alertness level classification(alertness, vigilance). The cut-off point of classified interval stimulus of alertness was determined by literature research and analysis.Based on the cut-off point,a group test device is developed to measure alertness and vigilance. The classification cut-off point was verified for 112 male students in sports institutes.Explore the classification method of alertness population. The alertness test data of 1015 soldiers and 112 male sports students during the vigilance test time of 2min were collated.Python software was used to establish the alertness crowd classification method, and ANOVA was used to analyze the differences among different alertness level crowd classification. To explore the changing characteristics of alertness and vigilance and different alertness level groups under different fatigue states.Sixty male soldiers were tested for alertness and vigilance classification(2min).Alertness and vigilance tests(10min)were performed before and after the body/brain fatigue intervention.Physical fatigue consisted of 10 minutes of moderate intensity step test and mental fatigue consisted of90 minutes of cognitive task. The results were tested by pairing test, and the changing characteristics of alertness and vigilance and different alertness level groups were obtained under different fatigue states. The results are as follows:(1)Taking 2s as the dividing point of the two types of alertness level(alertness and vigilance)interval stimulus, namely alertness(1-2s)and vigilance(2-10s).The performance of alertness level was different under different intervals of stimuli. In the alertness mode, the median RT,the mean RT and the maximum 10%RT were significantly lower than those in the alert mode(p<0.001).The average 1/RT was significantly higher than that in vigilance mode(p<0.001).However,the number of errors, the total number of errors and the number of false starts were significantly higher than those in vigilance mode(p<0.001).The slowest 10%,1/RT,error probability has no significant difference.(2)Classification method of alertness level group. In the first step, the reaction ability of the subjects was judged by calculating the distance of each reaction time distance of 100 ms,so as to obtain two categories of good reaction ability and poor reaction ability. In the second step, the absolute value of reaction time difference before and after was calculated to judge the volatility of the subjects and obtain three categories of large, medium and small fluctuation.Excellent,excellent,good,competent,poor,unqualified.The alertness test pattern was distributed best in the good and good groups in terms of accuracy; In terms of reaction speed, the good group and the unqualified group are the fastest. The vigilance test mode found the best accuracy and reaction speed in the excellent and excellent group.(3)After physical fatigue, the median RT,mean RT and the fastest 10% RT of alertness and vigilance were significantly decreased(p<0.05),while the mean 1/RT and the slowest 10% RT were significantly increased(p<0.05).The number of alert errors and total errors were significantly decreased(p<0.05).There was no significant change in the number of warning errors and the total number of errors, but the number of false start was significantly increased(p<0.05).After physical fatigue, there were significant differences in △ number of errors(p=0.005)and △ probability of errors(p=0.007)between excellent and poor groups in alert mode. There were significant differences in△ number of errors(p=0.018),△ probability of errors(p=0.013),and △ number of false starts(p=0.027)between excellent and poor groups in alert mode.(4)After mental fatigue, the median RT,mean RT,top 10% mean RT,number of errors and total errors of vigilance and vigilance were significantly increased(p<0.05),while the mean 1/RT and the slowest 10%1/RT were significantly decreased(p<0.05).Vigilance decreased significantly at 1-5 minutes(p<0.05),and vigilance decreased significantly at 7-10minutes(p<0.05).After mental fatigue, there was a significant difference between the excellent and poor groups in △ the slowest 10%1/RT(p=0.038)in the alert mode.In the warning mode, there were significant differences between good and poor in △error probability(p=0.019)and △ number of false starts(p=0.039).Conclusions:(1)When the stimulus interval cut-off point is set as 2s,there is a difference in the performance of alertness level,so 2s can be used as the time cut-off point of alertness level classification.(2)Alertness level was divided into 6 categories:excellent, excellent, good, competent, poor, unqualified.Select the superior and excellent group when stability and accuracy are required for tasks with short stimulus intervals and fast frequency in the military environment. In the task of long stimulus interval and attention to rare signals, when stability and response speed need to be taken into account, the excellent and excellent group should be selected.(3)In the military training environment, physical fatigue with moderate intensity load for 10 minutes significantly promoted the alertness level of soldiers, but did not reduce the temporary sleepiness of the subjects in the alert mode;Excellent group of soldiers increased the feeling of temporary lethargy vigilance physical fatigue.(4)In the military training environment, mental fatigue after 90 minutes has a significant inhibitory effect on the alertness level of soldiers.alertness wanes in the first 5 minutes and vigilance wanes in the 7 minute.Mental fatigue decreased the attention level of the poor soldiers in the alertness mode.Mental fatigue increased the transient lethargy of poor soldiers in alertness mode and decreased the stability of good soldiers.Conclusions:(1)2s can be used as the cutoff point for alert classification.(2)Alertness level is divided into six categories: excellent, excellent, good, competent, poor, and unqualified. The types of alertness should be distinguished based on the length of interval stimuli, and personnel should be selected based on the specific alertness requirements of the task.(3)Physical fatigue has a significant promoting effect on the alertness level of military personnel, but it increases a brief sense of drowsiness in vigilance mode. The excellent group of soldiers increased their temporary drowsiness in both modes.(4)Mental fatigue has a significant inhibitory effect on the alertness level of military personnel.vigilance can lead to decline, while alertness delay can lead to decline.Mental fatigue can reduce the attention level of individuals in poorer soldier alertness modes, and increase the temporary drowsiness in poorer soldier vigilance modes;Reduce the stability of the state in the vigilance mode for outstanding soldiers.
