Analysis On The Causes And Governance Of The Corruption Of Senior Executives In State-owned Enterprises

In China,anti-corruption has always been a great topical issue in society.Since the 18 th CPC National Congress,the fight against corruption has achieved remarkable results.However,due to the complexity of the causes of corruption,the governance measures cannot be taken once and for all.The situation is still grim and complex.The interest groups involved are intertwined,and the chain of interests is gradually lengthened,from individual corruption to group corruption,and then to organizational corruption,including power trading and collusion between officials and businessmen.The imperfect corporate governance structure provides opportunities for corruption.Although China has gradually established a modern enterprise management system,the development and reform of state-owned enterprise management models are still in progress,making it prone to various corruption issues related to governance structures and internal controls.An in-depth study of these issues is conducive to finding out the loopholes in corporate governance.By realizing how serious problems these loopholes will bring,we can more actively improve governance.This paper selects Kweichow Moutai Group as the case,starting with a series of corruption events that have occurred in recent years,and through in-depth analysis of the means and process of corruption implementation,to explore the causes of corruption of Moutai executives.Through research,this paper finds that the direct cause of corruption in Moutai is the high profit of Moutai Liquor;Secondly,the internal and external supervision capabilities are weak,including defects in internal control and insufficient external supervision and governance capabilities;In addition,executives’ dissatisfaction with salary and pursuit of career paths have formed subjective motivation.Executive corruption will harm all stakeholders.First of all,the channel profits are divided up by middlemen and senior executives,resulting in the loss of corporate profits and the encroachment of shareholders’ interests;Secondly,for the company itself,executive corruption will affect its business expansion,information disclosure and corporate culture,and hinder the development of the company in the long term.In this regard,this paper proposes corresponding countermeasures and suggestions from both internal and external perspectives of the company.
