Lenin’s collectivist ideology is an important part of Leninism, with a rich theoretical connotation and a powerful function of practical orientation.Lenin’s collectivist ideology was not only of great significance for the construction and development of the socialist state under Lenin’s leadership. In fact,it could also provide practical guidance for the adherence to the value orientation of collectivism in contemporary China.Collectivism is an important part of socialist ideology, and plays a vital role in strengthening the collective cohesion of the socialist state. At present, the development of collectivism in China faces many problems, such as the continued penetration of Western individualistic and egoistic thinking, the weakening of the value-oriented force of collectivism in the new pattern of interests, etc. This requires us to draw lessons from Lenin’s collectivist thinking to solve the problems we met.The formation of Lenin’s collectivist ideology was the result of the combined action of many parties. It came directly from the collectivist ideas of Marx and Engels, and was also influenced by traditional Russian collectivism, and developed and evolved according to the practice of socialist revolution and construction. In general, the formation and development of Lenin’s collectivist ideology went through three stages, firstly,a long period of formation and exploration before the October Revolution, and secondly, the development and deepening of Lenin’s collectivist ideology after the October Revolution and before the period of the New Economic Policy. This article examines Lenin’s collectivist ideology as a political principle, sorting out the idea in the context of the political, economic and cultural practices of Lenin’s leadership of the Russian revolution and construction. The content of Lenin’s collectivist ideology is mainly reflected in the economic aspect: advocating the state ownership of land and laying the groundwork for collectivism;implementing the distribution of labour to maintain collectivist fairness;and coordinating planning and the market to break away from collectivist stereotypes. The political aspect of the ideology is mainly reflected in: advocating national integration and safeguarding collective rights and interests;insisting on democratic centralization and strengthening collective stickiness;opposing bureaucracy and purifying the party collective. In addition, the ideology is reflected in two main cultural aspects: getting rid of cultural dilemmas and enhancing collective culture;and strengthening ideological education and building a collectivist culture. In contemporary times,to adhere to Lenin’s collectivist ideology means to adhere to the following principles. The first is to adhere to the organic unity of democracy and centralization. This includes adherence to the centralized and unified leadership of the Party, adherence to the Party’s self-revolution,adherence to the collective leadership system and adherence to the development of the whole process of people’s democracy.Secondly,in the economic sphere, adherence to the collectivist principle of economic development is required. This includes the adherence to the socialist market economy, the adherence to the public ownership system as the mainstay and the adherence to the distribution according to labour as the mainstay.Thirdly,at the cultural level,we insist on strengthening the spirit of collectivism in China with socialist culture, which means insisting on promoting patriotic education, insisting on promoting the construction of a strong cultural nation and insisting on promoting the spirit of labour.
