Research On The Evolution Of The Oath Taken When Admitted To The Communist Party Of China

As an important element of the initial pledge made by all Party members to the Party organization and the Party oath ceremony,the oath taken when admitted to the Communist Party of China(CPC)has undergone several iterations along with the century-long march of the Communist Party of China and has undergone an evolutionary process from development and perfection to maturity.The oath taken when admitted to the CPC is an indispensable material for the study of Party history and an essential element for the study of Party construction.Looking back on the century-long road of revolutionary construction and reform and development of the Party,the oath taken when admitted to the CPC has produced different oaths with different contents in various stages of historical development.By clarifying the dynamic evolution of the Party oath in different periods,it can be seen that the qualities of loyal political stance,firm beliefs and ideals,strict adherence to Party discipline and keeping Party secrets of communists are the unchanging contents.The advanced and contemporary nature of the oath taken when admitted to the CPC has kept it vigorous since its birth,and the contemporary meaning and value inspiration contained in the oath taken when admitted to the CPC has always shone with theoretical and practical light in the process of advancing our Party’s construction,illuminating us to keep moving forward.This article considers the oath taken when admitted to the CPC as an object of study in the context of the Party’s centennial march,combine the CPC’s centennial practice with the theory of Party building,analyze the historical evolution of the oath and explore the logical features behind it by sorting out the contents of the oath taken when admitted to the CPC in different historical periods,integrate the static text of the oath with the logic of dynamic development and change,and further derive the value of the oath taken when admitted to the CPC in the new era.This article is composed of five parts.The first chapter is an introductory section,which contains the background of the study of the evolution of the Party oath,a review of the current state of research at home and abroad,research ideas and methods,and novelties and difficulties of the study.The second chapter traces the theoretical origins of the study of the oath on the basis of the explanation of the concepts related to the oath taken when admitted to the CPC,such as oath,pledge and ceremony.The third chapter outlines the different versions and core contents of the oath taken when admitted to the CPC in four periods: the period of the New Democratic Revolution,the period of the socialist revolution and construction,the new period of reform,opening up and socialist modernization,and the new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics.The fourth chapter,as the focus of this article,summarizes the theoretical,historical,institutional and practical logical features behind the evolution of the oath taken when admitted to the CPC on the basis of the analysis of the constant quality of adherence to the admission oath of the CPC during its historical evolution and the dynamic micro-variations of the oath from its early formation,continuous development,enrichment and expansion to its perfection and finalization.The fifth chapter focuses on the implications of the evolutionary logic of the oath taken when admitted to the CPC for strengthening the Party organization,refining the political character of Party members,and strengthening the belief in communism in the new era.
