China’s rural Community Governance has a corresponding model in each specific historical period, and different models are constantly changing in different stages of development. Then, what are the driving forces and influencing factors to promote the change of rural Community Governance model? What are the rules of its transformation process? What are the implications of this regular process and the problems to be solved for the future development of rural Community Governance model? It is of great significance to analyze a series of issues related to the change of rural Community Governance mode in the context of promoting the modernization of national governance system and governance capacity. As an important part of the rural governance system, rural Community Governance is an important support for the modernization of the rural governance system and governance capacity, and also a basic and key link to promote Chinese path to modernization. The report of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China stressed that we should comprehensively and deeply promote rural revitalization and improve the rural governance system, especially the construction of rural Community Governance mechanism.Through literature review and research,it is found that the relevant research on the change of rural Community Governance mode is focused on the research on the change stage from a macro perspective, lacking the support of specific empirical perspectives, and failing to integrate various factors affecting the change and analyze its internal laws. This article selects the W community in Sichuan as the research object, introduces the theory of historical institutionalism, and explains this process of change from two dimensions:structural causality and historical causality. In the view of historical institutionalism, the process of institutional change is a regular process formed by the joint promotion of structural factors such as environment and actors, under the influence of historical factors such as path dependence and key nodes. From the beginning of socialist construction,W Community Governance model can be divided into three historical transition periods: "people’s commune","reform and opening up",and "rural revitalization",respectively corresponding to three models: "party government cooperation, community team system","township government, village governance, administrative leadership","village integration, village community integration".W community embodies the characteristics of the times and typicality in the process of its rural Community Governance. This paper will further discuss the orderly change of rural Community Governance model in combination with its change law and the problems faced by the current governance model. This requires a correct understanding of the phased characteristics of the rural Community Governance model, realizing the dominant position of villagers in the actors, and rebuilding the trust and cultural identity of rural communities.
