A Study On Marcuse’s New Technological Social Theory

In the context of the evolution of contemporary advanced industrial society into totalitarian technological rationality,science and technology have torn apart the traditional dominance of political violence,become a more secretive and new form of deceptive control,and deeply integrated with the political,cultural,consumer,ideological and other fields of social life.Marcuse believes that this integration is the transformation of society into a pathological one-dimensional society,which in turn leads to the alienation of the people living in it and the loss of freedom.In order to build an ideal society and realize the full realization of human freedom and liberation,Marcuse proposed a historical alternative: to break the old society by eliminating alienation and repression,to build a new society that frees both man and nature from repression and perpetuates aesthetic subversion with the help of new technologies that humanize,artistes,and produce both material wealth and freedom and happiness.By analyzes the social and historical background of Marcuse’s theory of new technology society,this paper analyzes the social and historical background of the birth of the new technology society theory,study the influence of Marx,Hegel,Heidegger,Freud,Max Weber and others on Marcuse’s new social theory,concludes the formation opportunity,cause,theoretical basis and basic characteristics of Marcuse’s new social theory.On this basis,this paper studies the realization of the ideal society envisaged by Marcuse,whose new technological social revolution takes the technological integration of developed industrial society as the revolutionary object,the New Left and the oppressed as the main revolutionary forces,then achieves the victory of the revolution through the overall revolution.As well as breaking the old society,Marcuse proposed to use new technology as a tool,which can become the key to building a new society because it is humane,a new art of art,which can provide people with the material and spiritual wealth necessary to live freely,to build a new society.By rejecting total revolution of existing society;artistic revolution;Cultivate new sensibility and humane new technologies,Marcuse proposed to build an ideal society of freedom,and ultimately realize the liberation of human love and human freedom.Marcuse’s new technological social thought takes individual people and specific people as its ontology and historical idealism as its methodology,which determines that the society he plans will inevitably fail,and the new society he depicts will inevitably go to nothing,but Marcuse’s attention to human nature,understanding of technology,and analysis of the relationship between man and nature,technology and society are conducive to our understanding and coping with the various drawbacks brought by the technological society.In-depth study of Marcuse’s new technology social thought can allow us to clarify the veins of postmodern thought,including biopolitics,spiritual politics,and speed politics,and deeply understand the situation of people in the postindustrial era and hope to use this as an opportunity to seek solutions to a series of current social problems.
