The Influence Mechanism Of Prosocial Participation On Recidivism Risk Of Community Correction Subjects

Community correction is the product of the socialization of penalty execution in our country,its ultimate goal is to prevent and reduce crime,to help community correction objects smoothly return to society,and to maintain social security and stability.Reducing recidivism is an important goal of community correction and an inherent requirement of the reform of penal enforcement system.Therefore,recidivism rate is the first choice to judge the effectiveness of community correction program.It is of great theoretical and practical significance to explore more effective corrective measures through in-depth analysis and investigation of recidivism risk and influencing factors of community correction objects.There have been studies on recidivism of objects of community correction,many of which only focus on the results of recidivism rate at the macro level and put forward theoretical indicators that may affect recidivism,and few conduct quantitative tests on the relationship between specific corrective measures such as public welfare activities and the risk degree of recidivism of objects of community correction.In other words,the specific influence mechanism of corrective measures such as public welfare activities on the risk of recidivism of objects of community correction has not been discovered.Therefore,based on the questionnaire data of community correction objects in District X of S City,crime termination theory and social interaction theory,this study explores the mechanism of prosocial participation on the risk of recidivism.Firstly,the effect of prosocial participation on recidivism risk of community correction subjects was studied.Secondly,starting from the two aspects of individual internal growth and social interaction,gratitude,just world belief and social recognition were introduced as intermediary variables respectively to test the intermediate mechanism of prosocial participation affecting the recidivism risk of community correction objects,that is,to analyze whether prosocial participation reduces the recidivism risk of community correction objects by cultivating gratitude,just world belief and improving social recognition.Finally,we examine the chain mediating effect of gratitude,just world belief and social recognition on the influence of prosocial participation on recidivism risk of community correction subjects.The study found that,first of all,prosocial participation has a direct effect on reducing the risk of recidivism of community correction subjects.Secondly,appreciation,belief in a just world and social recognition play a partial mediating role between prosocial participation and recidivism risk of community correction subjects.Finally,prosocial participation enhances belief in a just world by influencing the appreciation of community correction objects,thus promoting social recognition and ultimately reducing the risk of recidivism.Therefore,the inspiration for the practice of community correction social work lies in: actively encourage the subjects of community correction to participate in prosocial activities,and in the process of prosocial participation pay attention to the stimulation of individual feelings of gratitude,cultivate the belief of a just world,promote the positive feedback of the outside world in the interaction,promote the acquisition of individual social recognition,so as to reduce the risk of recidivism.
