The Philippines is the "window of Asian democracy" created by the United States. However,in actual operation, political families have long dominated the political arena. The political party system and electoral system that ensure the smooth operation of its democratic system have undergone changes.Political families have manipulated In order to achieve the goal of enabling family members to legally occupy state positions for a long time, not only money elections and violent elections are prevalent, but political parties are also absent in political activities, the party system is weak, and the trend of crony politics is intensifying. The Philippines has held 14 presidential elections since independence, and 2022 will usher in the 15 th presidential election since independence. This is also the seventh presidential election since the restoration of democracy. However, before and after the restoration of democracy, winning elections is an important way for political families to survive. As a result, elections in the Philippines have never been separated from the dominance of political families, and the political alliances formed between major families are constantly changing with the six-yearly presidential election. These alliances acted on behalf of the executive party in elections, and played a role in increasing the probability of politicians winning elections and inducing voters to vote, making the already weak party system in the Philippines even more fragile, and making the Philippines fall into a vicious circle of "strong families and weak parties".The 2022 election is also a competition between political alliances, with all major national parties almost wiped out and no strong candidates. The "Uni Team Alliance" with Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.and Sara Duterte-Carpio as the core of the campaign has assembled the forces of a number of political families such as Arroyo and Garcia and the opposition 1Sambayan with Leni Robredo as the core of the campaign. The competition continued.Winning elections is the only legitimate way for Filipino political families to maintain family politics under a modern democratic political system.Forming alliances is an important means of winning elections.Revolving around elections, the Philippines has seen a cycle of electoral alliances. These alliances and elections achieve each other and jointly maintain the Philippine family politics.
