Research On The Construction Of Cultural Space In University Libraries

"People will not stand without spirit,and countries will not be strong without spirit".The survival and development of a nation depends on the power of culture.Every leap of human society and every sublimation of human civilization is accompanied by historical progress of culture.In the new era,promoting cultural development and progress is an unshirkable historical mission of the library.As one of the three pillars of librarianship,university library has rich academic resources and strong cultural atmosphere,and shoulders the important responsibility and mission of cultural education.It is an important means of cultural education in university library to influence readers’ thinking mode and behavior concept through conscious or unconscious cultural education and environmental edification.The goal of this paper is to strengthen the cultural education and reshape the cultural environment through the construction of the cultural space of university libraries,so as to achieve the purpose of intangible education by using the environment and cultural atmosphere and give full play to the educational function of libraries.Firstly,based on the "five elements theory" of library science and the achievements of TEALS project of Deakin University in Australia,this paper divides the cultural space of university library into six elements:architectural space,object space,cultural logo,color,characteristic culture and spatial subject,and constructs a model of cultural space construction of university library according to the space production theory.Secondly,through the combination of offline field visits and online research,this paper investigates the current situation of cultural space construction in nine university libraries,and summarizes the outstanding construction achievements and existing deficiencies according to the survey results.Finally,based on the research results of many well-known university libraries,the Shahe Library of Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications is selected as a typical case to analyze,and the specific situation and current situation of cultural space construction in Shahe Library are deeply understood,and the common ideas of cultural space construction are summarized and sorted out accordingly.At the same time,the universal strategy of cultural space construction in university libraries is formed:the content of library cultural space construction is conceived and imagined by the space subject,the color and characteristic culture are integrated into the design and transformation of architectural space,object space and cultural logo through practice,so as to realize the synergistic integration of the six elements and form an interactive cycle that people promote space construction and space construction affects people.
