| In recent years.in the context of strategic competition among major powers,along with the new development of space technology and information revolution,the commercial value.military value and strategic significance of space have been further highlighted,and increasingly become the new frontier of strategic competition among major powers.As a long-standing military hegemon in space,the United States has also regarded space as an important fulcrum for its overall hegemonic support,and has comprehensively strengthened its strategic control over space at the strategic level.In particular,it has initiated an unprecedented large-scale militarization process of space since the end of the Cold War.The U.S.government has issued relevant policies and regulations to elevate the militarization of space to a high level of national strategy;built a domain-wide joint warfare model to enhance U.S.military warfare in space;established the Space Force and the Space Operations Command Agency,and promoted the construction of a space resilient architecture;updated space weapons and equipment,conducted frequent military exercises against hypothetical enemies such as China and Russia;built space military alliances and promoted civil-military integration in space as a way to consolidate the U.S.leadership in space.This series of strategic perceptions and specific initiatives have pushed the U.S.to show a militarized development trend in the space sector,reversing its previous focus on commercial and civilian use of space after the Cold War.The resurgence of the U.S.space militarization process,with the spearhead pointing directly at China,will undoubtedly pose many challenges to China’s national security,increase China’s space construction costs,and geopolitically affect China’s cooperation with neighboring countries and limit China’s ability to construct an international discourse and international rules in international governance in space.Based on the significance of U.S.space militarization and its impact on China,this article will rely on relevant policy documents,trace the historical evolution of the last round of U.S.space militarization,summarize the overall trend and major measures of the new round of U.S.space militarization from the Trump administration to the Biden administration,and use the analytic hierarchy process to analyze the specific reasons for the U.S.behavior.After a deep understanding of the causes and consequences of the new round of U.S.space militarization,this article will explore its impact on China and propose countermeasures to effectively respond to U.S.space militarization and safeguard China’s national security and development interests. |
