Research On Women’s Participating In Grass-roots Social Governance

In order to effectively deal with various specific affairs arising in the process of constructing,operating and developing of the society,and to ensure the stability and order of social development progress,social governance arouse at the historic moment.The new opportunities of our time have also brought with them new requirements and tasks.With the continuous development and progress of the economy and society,social governance covers more and more areas,involves more and more affairs.Also,here comes higher and higher requirements for social governance from the Party and the state.The Communist Party of China has always attached great importance to social governance.In the report to the 19th CPC National Congress,the concept of "building a social governance pattern featuring joint contribution,joint governance and shared benefits" was clearly put forward,and the 20th CPC National Congress put forward new and higher requirements for social governance.Every citizen is a participant in social governance,and can enjoy the fruits of social governance equally.With the basic state policy of Gender Equality has been further promoted,women’s rights and interests have been increasingly protected,and women’s self-awareness and independent spirit have gradually awakened.More and more women are willing and able to participate in social governance on an equal footing.Under the new situation,in the face of rapidly changing situations,complicated affairs and the challenges of keeping pace with The Times,how to full leverage women’s advantages and characteristics to better participate in social governance,give full play to,so as to effectively improve people’s livelihood and protect their rights and interests,is an urgent issue to be studied and solved.Taking Wujiang District of Suzhou City as an example,this study focuses on the current situation of women’s participation in grass-roots social governance in Wujiang District.It is found that Wujiang District has made certain achievements in organizational guarantee,active participation,democratic autonomy and other aspects,while there are still some deficiencies in policy implementation,publicity and guidance,team building and other aspects.Analyzing the current problems,the main reasons are not strong legal awareness of social subjects,government organs’ lack of publicity and education,lack of skills training of women groups and many other factors.In view of the current problems and their causes,development countermeasures such as improving government support,strengthening publicity guidance and optimizing team construction are put forward,and the limitations of this study and the future development of women’s participation in grass-roots social governance are prospected.
