Research On The Influence Of Distributive Justice On Citizens’ Cooperative Behavior In Collective Risk Social Dilemma

Cooperation is the key cornerstone of the development and movement of human society.In the collective risk social dilemma such as climate crisis and energy crisis,the broad cooperation of human society is particularly important.However,individual cooperation is often accompanied by a certain degree of interest sacrifice,and conflicts between individual interests and public interests occur from time to time.The government has to take certain measures to enhance the people’s willingness to cooperate and facilitate cooperative behavior.With the growing gap between rich and poor,distributive justice is an important antecedent variable for cooperation.At the same time,individual cooperative behavior is inevitably affected by external environmental factors and internal psychological factors.Therefore,this paper focuses on the impact of distributive justice on citizens’ cooperative behavior,and the moderating role of risk level and public service motivation between distributive justice and citizens’ cooperative behavior.This paper uses the method of survey experiment,combined with the threshold public goods game model.The experimental data was collected online by using the program based on the oTree framework and deployed on the ECS.Experiment I explored the influence of distributive justice on citizens’ cooperative behavior and the moderating role of risk level between distributive justice and citizens’ cooperative behavior.Experiment I was carried out for college students,a total of 266 participants were recruited and 222 valid data were obtained.Experiment Ⅱ used similar experimental methods and further explored the moderating role of public service motivation between distributive justice and citizens’ cooperative behavior.Experiment Ⅱ recruited 224 participants in the in-service personnel group and obtained 192 valid data.The results show that distributive justice has a positive impact on citizens’cooperative behavior.Risk level plays a positive moderating role between distributive justice and citizens’ cooperative behavior.Public service motivation plays a positive moderating role between distributive justice and citizens’ cooperative behavior.
