| Youth is a dynamic social force that is always at the forefront of the times and plays the role of vanguard and dynamic force in the process of revolution,construction and reform.The Communist Party of China(CPC)attaches great importance to the role of youth power and has positioned youth work as a fundamental task of the Party since its founding,closely linking youth with the noble mission of the proletarian Party.During the Comprehensive AntiJapanese War period,the youth in the National Unified Areas,as members of the general youth,played an important role in the overall victory in the war of resistance against Japan under the leadership of the CCP’s youth activities,The youth activities of the CPC in the national unified areas tested not only the leadership of the CPC but also the mass base of the Party.At the same time,the question of whether the specific practice of the CPC’s youth work could play a role in uniting the youth had a direct impact not only on the process of the struggle for victory in the war against Japan but also on the development of the Party’s revolutionary cause after the victory in the war against Japan.This paper systematically discusses the CCP’s youth activities in the National Unified Areas during the Comprehensive Anti-Japanese War period.The introduction mainly describes the background and significance of the work,the current state of research,and the concept and methods of the study.Chapter 1 sheds shedding light on the background and fundamentals of the youth activities of the CPC in the National Unified Areas during the period of the General War of Resistance,it explains how these activities met the development needs of the youth organizations in the National Unified Areas and were in line with the development trend of the times,discusses the theoretical,practical and organizational foundations of the Party’s activities,and provides an understanding for researching the path of youth activities in the National Unified Areas It gives an overview of the path of youth activities in the National Unified Area.Chapter 2 examines the impact of the changing situation in the zone of national unity during the Comprehensive Anti-Japanese War period on the development of youth work.In response to the situation,which evolved from strategic defense to strategic restraint and strategic counterattack,the CCP organization constantly adjusted its policies on youth work and shifted its approach to youth work from front to back,reflecting the dynamic nature of the youth work carried out by the CCP.Chapter 3 focuses on the main contents taken by the CCP in youth work in the National Unified Areas during this period.Given the complex situation in the national unified areas,the CCP carried out youth activities in all fields,including united front,propaganda,organizational guidance,and education and training,targeting groups such as young students,young women,young peasants,and young workers,to promote the liberation of young people’s minds and the rise of the youth movement.Chapter 4 evaluates the achievements and shortcomings of the CCP’s youth work in the national unity areas during the Comprehensive Anti-Japanese War period.It takes a dialectical view of the Party’s youth work in the national unity areas and acknowledges both the outstanding achievements and the mistakes made in the course of the work.Chapter 5 summarizes the historical experience and discusses current suggestions.Although youth work in the national unification areas has its own peculiarities,it is ultimately inseparable from the laws of the Communist Party’s youth work.The CPC’s youth work in the National Unified Areas during the period of the General War of Resistance is a colorful part of the history of the Party’s youth work as a whole.The CPC-led youth work in the national unified areas played an important role in mobilizing youth against the war,uniting intellectuals,organizing the youth movement,contributing to the anti-Japanese war in the national unified areas and creating the mass base for the war of liberation.It can be said that the Party’s youth work in the national unity areas during the allout war of resistance was excellent,obvious and important.Therefore,the systematic study and summary of the CCP’s youth work practices in the National Unified Areas during the Comprehensive War helps broaden the scope of youth work research and is in line with the objective need for the Party to focus on youth work in the new era. |
