Research On Legal Protection Of Personal Information In E-sports

The development of E-sports in the world has been ongoing for over a decade.After being recognized as an official sports competition by the General Administration of Sport of China in 2003,its development has attracted strong attention and controversy in society.Electronic sports rely on the virtual environment created by information technology,and personal information in electronic sports is in an invisible state in the development and circulation of events,demonstrating great potential value for utilization.Legal protection is necessary to balance development.This study adopts a model of discovering,analyzing,and solving problems.Through studying the legal protection of personal information in E-sports,it analyzes the current conflict between the public and private nature of personal information protection in E-sports in China,especially for E-sports athletes.The informed consent rule has certain limitations in the processing of personal information in E-sports,It is difficult to realize the right relief.When facing international events,E-sports faces legal conflicts in personal information circulation.In the case of unequal status between E-sports athletes and E-sports clubs,the study found that E-sports clubs also have loopholes in protection norms.Based on the use of literature research and comparative research methods,this paper analyzes the rights attributes,processing principles,and relevant experience in learning extraterritorial legal protection methods of personal information in electronic sports as the legal basis and practical experience.It ponders on the legal protection of personal information in electronic sports in China and proposes to clarify the scope of personal information processing in electronic sports,taking into account the problems found Strengthening the informed consent rules for E-sports athletes,improving regulatory and dispute resolution mechanisms,and establishing norms for the E-sports industry are constructive suggestions to promote the healthy development of E-sports,while also promoting the optimization of China’s personal information legal protection system,in order to formulate protective measures for the healthy and stable development of E-sports in China.
