| Accurately understanding the types of political parties of the Communist Party of China is an important part of interpreting the historical achievements of the Communist Party of China over the past 100 years. How to rationally expound the CPC from the perspective of party typology based on the empirical facts of the CPC’s comprehensive leadership and long-term ruling in the process of leading the Chinese people and the modernization of the Chinese nation,is an important direction for domestic political scholars to explore academic discourse innovation in recent years. In this context, the concept of "mission-oriented political party" came into being, which is not only an innovative interpretation of the organizational characteristics and operational logic of the Communist Party of China under new historical conditions, but also fundamentally reflects its unique temperament as a Marxist political party.Starting from the perspective of political party typology, this paper summarizes the classification methods and basic paradigms of Western classical political party typology research, and analyzes the limitations of their research paradigms, that is,from the perspective of "Western-centrism",only focuses on the basic position and role of political parties in the process of interaction between the state and society. The formation and transmutation of political party types are not only subject to the historical conditions of production, but also to the specific political system of party activities,so it is impossible to mechanically use the relevant research paradigms of Western typology to analyze the Communist Party of China.Based on this, this paper conducts research from three dimensions:institutional differences, conceptual interpretation, and structural function. The first is to use the party-state system as the starting point for typological distinctions. This paper divides political parties into electoral parties under the "state-party-society" system and mission-oriented political parties under the "party-state" system. The former treats political parties as a relatively secondary concept, organizations that emerge to meet the needs of the interaction between the state and society; The latter used the party as the force leading the revolutionary process to build the state institutions, and in this process the mission-oriented party began to emerge and establish its leadership.Secondly, the interpretation of the concept of mission-type political party is used as the support for the typological construction, and the mission of political party reflects the fundamental value of the existence and activities of political parties under the party-state system, and also shapes the organizational characteristics and main characteristics of political parties. Finally,it is discussed based on structure-functional morphology, and uses it as the dimension of typological investigation.Discussing the mission-oriented orientation of the CPC is fundamentally different from the electoral party in terms of organizational methods, structural characteristics and behavior mode, which can balance the unity of representativeness, expression and response, and also help to accurately understand the political aspects of the CPC’s overall leadership and long-term rule. |
