As the new generation of information and communication technologies represented by 5G accelerates and deeply integrates with various fields of society.China’s comprehensive informatization is further accelerated.Behind this social phenomenon are the profound changes in human information channels. With the increase in information acquisition methods, some characteristic problems have gradually emerged.Young people prefer to use the Internet to search for information, while middle-aged and older adults rely on traditional channels to obtain information.Transitional Group Preference. At the same time, the intensification of the “information cocoon room” effect and the “digital divide” has seriously affected the social cognition of the youth group and has also caused a division between the middle-aged and the elderly group in terms of social morality and way of thinking.Such deviations in social cognition and moral perception increase the sense of uncertainty in residents’ social life, hinder the formation of individual “social trust”,and the whole society has entered an era of trust dystocia.Based on CGSS,this study takes people of different age groups as research objects to explore the impact of their information channel usage preferences on social trust. This paper firstly completes the research design of independent variables. In the first step, through literature research combined with factor analysis,it is proved that the residents’ preferences for traditional media and Internet media are consistent, which needs to be divided into two factors: traditional media information channels and Internet media information channels for discussion and research; The comparative analysis of information channel usage preferences shows that there is little difference in the usage preferences of interpersonal information channels and traditional media information channels among people with different age characteristics, but the Internet media usage preferences show a decreasing trend with age;the third step, through information channels Using preference variance analysis,it was found that there were significant gaps in the five information channel preference factors of people with different age characteristics,a questionnaire survey was used to verify the research results. After that, this paper establishes a multiple linear regression model of the influence of information channel usage preferences on the social trust of three age groups and conducts model validation. It is confirmed that the channel preference for community information acquisition and the taste for traditional media information acquisition channels have a significant impact on the respondents of the three age groups, and they all show a positive correlation; In contrast, the preference for the family information acquisition channel has a significant impact on the social trust of middle-aged people. There is a positive impact;the importance of social information acquisition channels has different degrees of influence on the respondents of the three age groups, and there are also certain differences in the direction of effect;the preference for Internet media information channels shows the social trust level of the respondents of the three age groups—a significant negative correlation.Based on the above research conclusions, this paper puts forward some countermeasures and suggestions: First, starting from the construction of citizens themselves, improve their information discrimination ability, and do not leave opportunities for all kinds of fraudulent activities.Community organizations and social institutions should design different strategies for different groups of people. The activity plan plays a role in improving social trust and debugging people’s mental health.Second, encourage traditional media to actively transform themselves, assume their corresponding social responsibilities, continue to strengthen the supervision of Internet media, establish a sound network monitoring mechanism, and take precautions to deal with untrustworthy incidents. Finally, based on the research of this paper,it is necessary to further screen the information channel factors in the future and combine the trust situation to determine the most important channel factors for public social trust.
